I know there was a thread on this recently but I can't find it. I realize anything can happen at any time but at what amount would you start to feel uncomfortable with how much money you have in 5d. Also which books for US players are most reliable when balances get higher

you need to come up with an asset allocation plan for your money.

assign percentages to each and as your money grows re-balance.

the percentages a person uses will depend on the their risk tolerance

5% checking account
10% savings account
40% stocks
10% bonds
35% offshore gambling

of course inside each allocation you would want to diversify

stocks> 20%Growth/20%Value/20%small cap/20% foreign/ 20% large cap

these are just examples you should split it up after some thought. just remember to re-balance on pre-determined dates or when the percentages are out of whack... what you are trying to do is make a plan and stick to it without emotion

tony is fine, he may be a crazy, vindictive, and volatile book owner who may
shut you off or lower your limits on a whim or by asking him a question,
but at least he is honourable and will pay you.

WEEZY - I had between 20-25k in there during a baseball run I went on - My advice is take AS MUCH as you can as fast as you can. No, not because you won't get paid but you gotta ask yourself why do I need all this money in an offshore sportsbook? Out of that 20k, I only managed to get out around 3k before I lost it back. That one hurt, learn from someone who made a mistake and take your doe out and have it in your hand homie.

Witnessed a guy with well over $100,000 before he finally withdrew...

Thats impressive. Did he make huge deposits or did he run up his balance?

Saw a guy on another site win 17k. He put in for a 5k deposit and lost the other 12k. This wasnt at 5dimes but the point is not to keep money offshore because you're gonna lose it eventually.
