jon lester to me has a chance to go back to the guy he was his last few years in boston. I don't trust him.

jake arrietta has come out of nowhere since being on the orioles, how is it that all of a sudden he's good? He can't possibly be that great again plus i saw him towards the end in the playoffs, and for sure 100% i do not trust him, i would not be surprised if he's either injured or not 100% with those pitches he throws.

also i can't believe the cubs signed jason heyward to an 8 year 184 million dollar contract, no way is he worth that money. There is a reason why the cardinals franchise let him go, i'm sorry but there's no way anyone does that unless you're the dodgers or angels.

stephen piscotty to me has not proven anything. He has shown some signs that he might be good but i think that allan craig for example was a lot better at the time. Unfortunately allan craig fell off the map and so did david friese. But allan craig and david friese were not getting paid the money they deserved at the time while they were helping the cardinals win. The cardinals are a sell high buy low team as opposed to the cubs with jason heyward, that's a buy high guy to me that will end up being a sell low for 184 million like what happened with richie sexson.

In my mind, the cardinals view stephen piscotty as being 18 years old. It's possible that he could be a bust but it's also possible he could be better than david friese and allan craig combined. If i was the cardinals, i might have gone for jason heyward at 4 years at 10 million dollars a year but good for him to be getting paid on the cubs, not hating on the guy, just saying that i like the way the cardinals think.

Might be the cubbies best chance this year in a long while. They will undoubtedly fall short, but they start out at the front of the race so theirs to lose.

Not sure what the reason is, he turned down more money from the Cards.

there's no way that jason heyward was offered 200 million dollars from the cardinals, not even if it was for near double the years. But i can understand how the agents for him throw a lot of rumors out there that this team and that team offered this much money and jason heyward is made out to look like a genius just because the cubs are new, that's why he picked less money?

he'll be 34 by the time that he finishes up this contract but good for him for picking 8 years instead of say like a `12 year contract for over 200 million

That can't be the worst contract in the history of baseball. Isn't he atleast solid?

Hamilton got like 140-150million and was coked up out of his mind.

JAKE STILL GOT THE WIN TODAY: Arrieta became the first Cub to win his first nine decisions since Kenny Holtzman in 1967 and it is the best start to a season for the franchise since Jim McCormick went 16-0 in 1886.

<article class="article-bucket content">CHICAGO (CBS) — Following the release of Major League Baseball’s playoff schedule, even the most cautious Cubs fan is circling all of those dates in October, including those late in the month.
You know, for the first pitch in the World Series.
And, for good reason, the Cubs are a lock to win their division and are the odds-on favorite to not just get to the Fall Classic, but win the whole thing.
The data experts at FiveThirtyEight are giving the North Siders at 21 percent chance of raising the Commissioner’s Trophy.
That’s well ahead of any other team in baseball.
Rounding out the top five:
Red Sox: 12 percent
Blue Jays: 11 percent
Indians: 10 percent
Dodgers, Nationals: 9 percent
