For me the best strategy is to look around for good offers that is why I prefer to open account multiple accounts to bookmakers because different bookies can have different odds for the same type pof bets

2% per play has always worked best for me, using a 25k roll. play on average 1000 plays a year.... using this strategy for the past 10 years. Goal is to go 560-440

maximize when hot, minimize losses when cold

i'm not good enough nor do i spend the time to hit 56%+ regularly

i double up about every 2 yrs for a microbankroll

It all starts with money mgmt. and enough self discipline to do only what you set out to do. You should have no less than three outs with dime lines or less on the vig, play most of your bankroll between 2%-3% each game and set 5% as a max for only certain plays you find an edge that really stands out. Don't put a numbered limit on these type of plays cause you don't know how many you might find in a season. Pull the trigger, the devil hates a coward. Passing games is allowed. They play the National Anthum someplace everyday. Whats not allowed is playing games just because they are gonna be watched by you on tv. Thats an impulse disorder kicking in and you had better learn how to recognize it and deal with it cause you are gonna go on tilt and that is not allowed. Bankroll mgmt. is far more important than picking winners. As for losing, it's part of the game. Learn how to accept it as a lesson, not a mistake. It will help you get past the thinking that you cannot do what you set out to do. So remember, there are no mistakes, only lessons. So learn from them, or you will repeat them till you get it, or just stay stuck doing the same thing over and over again. Learn to modify your betting habits and tweek certain parts of your journey down this road called gambeling. Good Luck and may you find success down the rabbit hole.
    What impulsive disorder?

need decent bankroll to play such a small %...I am a small bettor, between $25 and $100 per game. This baseball season I started with $200 and play on average 3-6 games per day. My current bankroll is just under $500. I have been playing $25 games for at least a month now. Would be doing well if I was betting big! I am now sharing my picks on the forum. I tell you this, because you cannot take the above posters advice (good advice) unless you have a decent bankroll. If you are small like me, gonna be difficult to wager $4 per game, lol

If you have a fulltime job to live on and betting is a part time gig, I say 2-3% of your bankroll. My main goal is to grow my bankroll. I don't spend any winnings. Spending my winnings on toys in the past was a mistake.

1-1.5% of bankroll if betting is your livelihood.

I understand what you mean by this, but at some point you have to enjoy winnings. When online poker was popular and semi-legal, I did ok with it. Bought a nice boat with winnings and don't regret it one bit. My family has enjoyed countless hours of enjoyment thanks to undisciplined hold'em players.

PRE-DETERMINE YOUR DISCIPLINED MONEY & GAME MANAGEMENT STRATEGY.

Industry Best Practices that will reduce your learning curve by decades for the good of your Sports Betting Bankroll

Nations most successful Sports Better Billy Walters did not succeed until later in his career when Late Pro Poker Player Chip Reese educated Billy on Money Management. Establishing your annual Bankroll Amount & Money Management System should be your first priority preparing for any upcoming seasonal sport as it will increase your chances of winning & decrease or even eliminate your chance of losing. Sports Betting is 50% Money Management Discipline & 50% Handicapping. Nobody wins long term without BOTH!

Establishing Your Bankroll Guidelines must include :

*Original Bankroll Amount ( No amount is too small) 'Small Ball' is a good way to start each season , practicing & verifying discipline to beat Vegas 'with their own money.'
(View your Play amount in terms of 'turnaround in your bankroll' $110.= $210. $330. = $630. $ 550. = $1050.) Be satisfied with steadily increasing your bankroll.
    * Use Star Rating System 1 % - 5 % of total Bankroll
*Total Single Session % (not to exceed 10-15%)
*After each session adjust according to amount W/L $ amount to determine new Bankroll amount before next day/ week’s session.

Money Management System described above takes less than 5 minutes to build & Last a Lifetime. Make it your first Tab in your Sports Investing spreadsheet.
It takes Tremendous Discipline (TD) & Respecting Your Bankroll at all times that allow you to 'stay in the game.' Not just this year, but decades to come.
Tom Landry once was quoted saying , ' Achieving your goal is not the main thing. It is how you go about achieving your plan by staying with it.' This applies to Bankroll Discipline.
Treat info received like Clerical Work, don’t get emotionally invested during the heat of battle. Discipline will fill your cup to the rim in the long run.

    Game Management
Game Management is vital to your continued success & goes hand in hand with Money Management. Game Management means 'Total # of bets during a single betting session.' For NFL my preference is the '2 game format.' This increases my chance of increasing bankroll while decreasing my exposure to losses. During the flow of a season everyone incurs winning & losing streaks. Always be aware of your surroundings and where you & your Capper may be and adjust according. After a big winning week , adjust not to give back winnings.

    Straight Plays ONLY DISCIPLINE

    # 1 mistake novice bettors make disrespecting their bankroll is betting Parlays or Teasers better known as 'exotics.' These BANKROLL ERRORS have 'highest amount of hidden juice' & are sucker bets that 'Squares' play. Vegas loves these type bets as they build huge Exotic Hotels & Casinos with these dollars At the end of the year Sports Books depend on parlay action for a profitable year.
Example: If you make 3 wagers $110 each & win 2 your plus $90. Bet 3 Teamer for $100. win 2 your minus $100. That is a $190. 00 BANKROLL MISTAKE.
Do that 50 x per year & you just gave Vegas $9,500.00 disrespecting your bankroll that may end your Sports Betting for the year or career.
When approaching Vegas betting window the first 3 words should be 'STRAIGHT PLAY ONLY.' RESPECT YOUR BANKROLL!
Think of it this way. If you play 2 games for $330.00 each , you have $30.oo to win $600. Much better that a $100 parlay (with 17% Hidden Juice) to win 600.
In a nut shell , weak players better known as Squares play exotics , strong experienced players are slow & steady with straight plays ONLY.
