Four current and two former Iowa State football players rescued a woman trapped in a sinking car during their spring break in South Padre Island, Texas, The Des Moines Register reports.

On March 16, 22-year-old Luisa Maria Castro drove her car hood-first into a canal, where it became almost completely submerged.
According to the Register, current seniors Jack Spreen and Anthony Lazard and former player Joe Doran came to her assistance, swimming over to the car and freeing her by breaking a hole in the windshield.
Senior Josh Jahlas, sophomore Spencer Benton and former player Matt Swoyer waited ashore and helped collect Castro there.
