I'd imagine it is BS but you never know, he might be trying to gain leverage for more equitable revenue sharing.

Before his loss to Diaz, he was the first guy that was really on the cusp of making the UFC co-promote with him.

He did just watch his buddy die last week while sitting cage side ...

maybe he thought getting punched / choked isn't worth it anymore ??

Also he has been out of the spotlight for a couple weeks ... possibly just doing this for attention ?

Who knows with this guy ...

Too bad it won't end up being true and he's just trying to get more money. He's gonna get his ass whooped again next fight, then he may retire, and come back begging the UFC to let him back in. He's made several million, but he's not uber rich, and has tried to live a lavish lifestyle lately, which will result in bankruptcy. Good riddance if true, though. Guy is so over rated and a bad role model for the sport IMO anyways...

Yep, straight clown. I wouldn't want my child looking up to this punk. You want a role model in MMA, look at Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson...

Did he ever defend his belt successfully?

This guy should just jump out of an airplane without a chute

Whether you like his antics or not, if he didn't act that way then he would be fighting inside of a cage for significantly less money. Obviously a no-brainer to promote fights the way he does.

There are others in the UFC that act like him (assholes) that don't get nearly the attention

Dana just fell in love with him and put him on a pedestal ...

UFC is just a popularity contest now ... whoever Dana and the Ferttita brothers like, get it all.

They also didn't KO one of the best pound for pound fighters of all time in about 9 seconds.

If you're a fan of cage fighting then you should want a guy like McGregor to be around, same with Chael Sonnen. He is bringing new fans to the sport.

Ali acted like 10x the asshole either of those guys did, do y'all dislike him too?

Aldo is at the end of his career ... IMO I was not impressed at all by that KO

I'm a Huge MMA fan (since UFC 1) I sure don't want McGregor around ... He is an overrated hype machine with only 1 "real" win

Ali proved himself fighting everybody ... He talked shit AND backed it up

McGregor talks shit and gets put to sleep

Dude he just took a fight at a catchweight that was all risk, zero reward. How many guys with his momentum would preserve the W and pullout of something like that?

Even if you think McGregor is overrated, atleast he stands and kickboxes. He fights to finish or get finished, give him that atleast. I'd rather watch him fight than a wrestler anyday. None of that rolling around on the ground, humping the other dude homosexual stuff like a GSP.

We'll see if Aldo is washed up at 200 I guess. Apparently the oddsmakers don't think so if he is PK vs Edgar.

Agreed 100%

He just takes heat becuz of his attitude and demeanor to other fighters, he is the real deal, and he will beat Diaz this time MARK MY WORDS

He stands and fights because he has NO ground game ... none ... he is a one dimensional fighter

Like it or not, BJJ / Grappling is 50% of MMA ... is it sometimes boring / hard to watch ? .. sure but its a big part of the sport.

As far as him fighting at different weight classes, in all honesty it meant nothing except making him look stupid.

Sure he might Diaz in the rematch but you saying he is the "real deal" is pretty far off ... He hasn't proven anything at all yet .....

He takes heat also because he is loved by the owner and gets opportunities that proven fighters don't get

He's not the real deal. His wrestling is some of the worst I've seen in MMA. Dude would get abused on the ground even here locally...
