Oakland +120 over N.Y. YANKEES

7:05 PM EST. Rich Hill’s stock has dropped because of his poor early stats (4.15 ERA, 1.69 WHIP) after three starts. However, blame a crazy 48% hit rate for those weak surface stats. His very early skills have been quite strong (19/5 K/BB in 13 IP). His control issues remain a chronic worry (50% first-pitch strike%, 40% ball%), but his 11.1% swing and miss % confirms that Hill continues to carry a lot of strikeout potential.

Yes indeed it’s early but we have seen enough of the Yankees to take a stand on them and that stand is to fade them when they’re favored. The Yanks have decent pitching for sure but what they also have is a slew of overpaid vets that should be playing in old-timers games instead of everyday players at this level. The Yanks really have no choice but to play these stiffs because they’re paying them so much money. The Yanks are paying A-Rod 22M, Beltran 15M, Texiera 23M, McCann 17M and Ellsbury 21M. That’s all just for this season only and they’re not going to dish out that type of money to sit those guys. The Yanks will get some wins and they’ll have some big offensive days because every team does but at the end of the day, they are simply a very weak team that has too many rally killers in the order. As the chalk, the Yanks have less value than a Bitcoin. New York has a very decent pitching staff that will get them some wins also but again, when they’re favored, we are not going to over-analyze it, we are just going to fade them constantly. That fade begins here.
