Maybe Grady Little's move to leave Pedro in during game 7?

Maybe McNamara leaving Bill Bucks in late against the NYM on D?

Letting pitchers 23 and under throw close to 300 innings, ruining potential Hall-of-Fame careers. Dean Chance is the first to come to mind, but there were plenty others in the 60s and 70s

joe McCarthy starting Denny Gailhouse instead of Mel Parnell in the 1st AL playoff game ever in in 1948.
Gave the Indians the pennant, assured the Indians manager Lou Boudreau the MVP over Ted Williams
& Joe DiMaggio who both had better seasons.

I was young but I thought Buckner was a very good defensive 1st baseman. Why would he be replaced?

Buckner had previously played for the Cubs and he should have been aware of the curse hat is following them.

The year the Nats had a fantastic record and a squad that could make a world series run but they decided to rest their best pitcher for the entire playoffs

If I'm not mistaken, Buckner had been replaced late in the previous games during that series for better defensive players.

Look at Gene Mauch's resume of the last two weeks of the 1964 season....

Chris Short & Jim Bunning started 7 pf the last ten games. They were in 1st place 132 days. With 12 games to go
they were 6.5 games ahead & lost 10 in a row. I remember as it was the first bet I ever made with a bookie
$10 to win as I remember $300, I bragged about the bet all season long. it was Bunning's first season with the
Phils and Richie Allen just up from the monors was expected to be a star and he was.

the 1st one that popped into my head was grady little in 2003.

buckner probably tops it bc of the situation that was a WS clinching game if the red sox had won game 6 vs the mets

Jim Fregosi's use of his bullpen in the 93 WS, especially going to Wild Thing time and time again

Ron Washington game 6 2011 World Seies.
Not having Nelson Cruz play deep so a ball can't get over his head with 2 outs and a 2-run lead in bottom of 9th.
7-5 lead is gone on Freese fly ball triple and eventually lose 10-9 in 11 Innings.
And we all know what happened the next night in game 7.

Bobby Cox, just imagine if the Braves had Bochy as their manger. They would have been the team of the nineties! All that pitching but a shit bullpen always did them in. Should have used Smoltz in the pen earlier, just like Bochy used Bumgarner!
