Taylor Rosenthal can't even legally drive but has already turned down a $30 million offer to buy his startup RecMed, CNN Money reported on Tuesday.
The 14-year-old exhibited his startup, a vending machine that serves first-aid kits rather than snacks, at TechCrunch Disrupt NY this week.

"They told me that I was the youngest person to ever get accepted to the event," said Rosenthal in an interview with CNN Money. "It felt awesome."

Rosenthal's idea started as a class project after he noticed a lack of first-aid supplies available for purchase at baseball tournaments.

To date, the startup has raised $100,000. Rosenthal plans to start distributing the machines in the fall.

Don't get me wrong, I'd take the money as fast as possible. Good luck to him though, thinks he has a winner and wants to see it grow.

When Yahoo tried to buy Facebook, Zuckerberg's partners all figured they were gonna just take the deal. It was a billion dollars and his share would've been 250M. He said if he sold, he would just start another social networking site and he already likes the 1 he has. Rest was history.

If there were great demand for First Aid Kits at baseball tournaments wouldn't these be sold at the various concession stands within the parks?

I don't understand this at all. Must be something to do with the vending machine itself's design....

I dont don't like the name, logo, or the looks of it. Other than that he has a winner.

Like the others said he should have cashed out and run.

That's what my first thought too. I have kids in sports and the coach or a team mom usually has a first aid kit....and they're usually only used when the whiny kid on the team gets a little scrape on the knee a few times a season. I just don't think there's much demand. And from what I hear, maintaining a machine is usually pretty costly - vandalism, mechanical failure, re-stocking...

Yeah this is just puzzling, man. I swear its like I am on an entirely different Planet than the one I was on when I was younger. The sheer number of things that make absolutely no sense to me at all is incredible.

I would go with a bag of ice from the concession stand before buying one of those ice packs from the machine

The kid probably got hit in the back with a change up or miss judged a pop up and wanted a ice pack and the coach told him just rub it your fine

I just watched the most recent Bryabt Gimble last night on SHO. One of the pieces was on the huge safety protocols at baseball parks in Japan. And the lack of here in the states. Recently major league extended the netting in ballparks to the dugout which was just an extra 10-11 feet. In Japan there is extensive more netting lining the lower parts and spectating area. In fact you can sit in front of the netting for a more "intense" experience. I forget the world they use. Anyway those seats are equipped with a helmet and glove. No shit. Each seat. They also have girl ushers in the isle that blow a whistle in section that foul ball goes and then they point to exact location. Another usher goes over to make sure everyone is ok. They say that American ballparks will soon have more safety measures taken meaning more netting around parks.

That's because more and more people are falling asleep while watching baseball. It's a national epidemic.

We can't have people nodding off and then getting drilled with a foul ball and not waking up.

They also set up a experiment (ASU) where everyday people sat behind a plexiglass shield and had a pitching machine blast baseballs at fouled off speed. Even though the people knew it was coming they still didn't react fast enough. I'm actually amazed more people aren't hurt or even killed by fouled off baseballs. If that hits someone not looking (and sometimes do) can seriously fuck someone up.

Yeah but you're from The Great White North so you're made of Stockier Stout than the cotton candy and jellybeans we are assembled from down here. The bag of ice just because you needed that for your cooler of Labatt's everyone of us here knows you're way too stoned on that British Columbian Purple Hair to feel pain so stop with this ruse. Just stop it.
