Question about hedging

I have a small 5 game parlay riding on the Cubs +.5 for the first 5 innings in tonight's game. Basically if the Cubs are tied or winning at the end of 5 innings I cash. It's to win $510.

I always have trouble calculating what my best opportunity is to play it safe and guarantee a winner and possibly cash both sides. Any help/suggestions are much appreciated.

Line is SF -110 at -.5 or -160 ML for the first 5 innings.

Take SF for $250

You'll net $200 (SF) or $235 (Chi)

Or let it ride, risking $50 for $510.

If its me, I take SF at $250. I'll net $200 minimum, small premium if Chicago wins.

If you really like the Cubs, then take the smaller bet on SF.

I would 100% hedge this bet to at least break even.

Sounds like you did the SF $250.

Congrats on on your win. Anytime you can guarantee a solid profit you do it. Parlays aren't easy, especially 5 teamers, so that was a great job on your part to set up a nice win before the game even started.
