Michigan running back Drake Johnson can't catch a break.

Johnson, a fifth-year senior from Ann Arbor, also runs track for the Wolverines and suffered an undisclosed injury at Michigan's indoor track and field building last month. Jim Harbaugh did not give specifics at the time, but the Detroit Free Press has obtained the accident report. The details are horrifying.

On April 13, a forklift driver was moving a large cabinet at the indoor track building when he "felt a bump, stating he thought he ran over a starting block, when he saw Drake Johnson, a student-athlete, roll from under the forklift."

That's right, Johnson was run over by a forklift. The shock of it all makes Harbaugh's "blue, twisted steel" comments after the accident seem so much more appropriate.

"I was with the family last night and I'll let them comment on the specifics," Harbaugh said in April, via the Detroit Free Press. "I feel better with that coming from Drake or his family. But he's doing well.

"I could tell you this: It would have killed a lesser man. He is blue, twisted steel, very flexible and amazing. It's one of those miraculous things, but he's done well as can be expected."

A college athlete getting run over by a forklift is going to draw plenty of attention, but it's nothing but well-wishes from here. Johnson was suffered two torn ACLs in his career, including one in the season-opener of 2013, his redshirt freshman season.

Johnson appeared in 12 games last season, caught a touchdown pass in the Michigan spring game this year (before the forklift incident) and is expected to compete for snaps at running back in 2016.
