Football coach Art Briles has been fired by Baylor, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy. Baylor has been under scrutiny for months about how it has handled sexual assault allegations involving several of its football players.

The school will make the announcement at noon ET.
Players were notified of the news via a text message from Briles, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.

Baylor QB commit Kellen Mond was already looking around quite a bit before Bears' coach Art Briles was dismissed Thursday. A Big Ten recruiter just told me he expects Mond, the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback, to decommit today or within a few days because of the news. Mond is also heavily considering Ohio State, Auburn, Florida and others.

Will anyone hire Briles now?

I would think so. There is a lot to this story involving campus police and the top administration. But, there is a report coming out on the matter and if it pins a lot on this him, then maybe not.

Wow. Didn't expect this.

Same Here. Few can get production at the QB Position like Briles. A few programs should be chomping at the bit to engineer a QB Powerhouse like a Briles hire could bring.

Baylor Football, difficult to imagine the program there is not severely hobbled by this.

NO...NONE college football program would get within a country mile of Briles right now.

According to USA Today, Briles was the highest paid coach in the Big 12 last year
and he blew it by knowingly recruiting sexual assault recruits and then lying and
covering up for them. A coach might be hired after he murdered someone but not
when he lied and covered up sexual assault situations.
