I am from the northeast. Just about done dealing with winters. Hate 'em. Where, in your opinion is the best warm weather area to live in, in America? Originally, I was thinking Georgia, NC area, but now I think they are not warm enough. Had an opportunity to go to Houston but just seems to muggy and uncomfortable. Florida? Nevada? Arizona? What say you?

Charleston SC has to be in consideration.

I live in Birmingham AL and love it, very underrated city.

Cousin lives in Charleston SC and loves it (she has lived in Dallas, Philly, Massachusetts and Maine and has now been in Charleston a few years and she says she is not leaving) I have not been to visit yet.

for years I said I would never live in Florida but now I am starting to rethink that...I do have some family in the Ft. Lauderdale area, Daytona area and my parents live in the Tampa area. JC, what area of Florida did you live in? Do you think East or West coast is better?

Best is "relative".

If money is not a factor, then San Diego is the best city in the 48.

Anywhere on the East coast? Pass. Too much humidity and bugs.

PHX is probably the most affordable. Hot as hell 5 months out of the year so stay inside or wear sunscreen. The other 7 months are absolutely beautiful.

I was in Orlando. Summer was a little too hot and humid but outside of that i loved the weather compared to the Midwest.

In Indiana it feels like we can go months at a time without ever seeing the sun. It's either excruciatingly hot or freezing cold. We get about one week of fall.

unfortunately money is always a factor...and so Florida is probably more realistic then moving my family to Arizona, though it sounds beautiful.

Cost of living in AZ and FLA is very similar. Depending on where exactly you live of course. But overall, very similar.

DD, I assume you are currently in the PHX area?

I was born and raised in AZ. Lived in northern AZ for about 15 years. The last 20 years in the PHX area.

Been to Florida many times. Its great in the winter. But I just cant stand the humidity in the summer. I'll take 115 in PHX over 88 in FLA all day.

The saying "its a dry heat" means something.

its so hard for me to know because I have never been to Arizona and I have only been to Vegas once and when I did it was April and colder than usual.

I'm from Houston, and whenever the wife and I visit Vegas and we hear people complaining it's hot I just laugh and think, you have no idea. Like DD stated, huge difference between heat with humidity and without.

Anywhere around Charleston, SC if you want a beach, and upstate SC and WNC if not.
