Anyone have any idea why this total is so low? I follow things pretty closely and can't make sense of the line. It looks like the current players who have faced porcello hit him fairly well and the Red Sox vs basically a rookie? Idk
and the wind is blowing out

just seeing what you'll think

thanks

I don't have the knowledge to speak in depth on this theory or the ability to confirm the validity, but I've heard some talking about a "thick marine layer" on the west coast. Just the air is thicker so the ball doesn't carry. San Diego and San Fran (Seattle is affected too..but tough to tell with the pitching change) have dropped or at least juice shifted. I tried googling for more info on it but the science is a little dry and I couldn't find a baseline to compare it to.

You can find some baseball related stories on it though from years past. Again, not saying any of this is accurate but have heard the chatter.

Not a bad theory, but I've seen tons of lines at SF ballpark and this fairly low for them. With Boston in town and rookie pitching, idk seems very lol. At least by a run

I had noticed this too while browsing lines earlier.. A Boston line at 7.5 EV? With Porcello on the mound too?

Foggy and drizzle here for at least a week and yes there is a marine layer here, we call it natures air conditioning

Is the marine layer a constant during this time of year or are some days "thicker" than others? If so, what is the measurement of that thickness (like humidity level or what?)

It isnt constant and when the fog isnt in it is hot as hell and the ball flys. San Francisco is typically one of the cooler spots in the bay area so when you see temps 80 and above its hot

Without Spence the Giants offensive production is significantly impacted. No Ortiz at dh.

Also IL play changes the dynamics of the play, what Bos did against AL teams may not necessarily translate into the same success against a NL team in IL play. Good luck whatever you play.

In San Diego those of us that live on the coast refer to this as May Gray / June Gloom, yes very heavy, thick air. That said, you don't have to only hit HRS to score runs out west.

ie: Padres v. Seattle series last week ~40+ runs in that series (I'm pulling that number from my head, on my phone)

Oh well, I'm tired of over thinking things. They want to give me a Boston total with a rookie pitching at 7 (bought hook) I'm betting it huge. I'll blame it on crown royal if i lose. Biggest bet of the baseball season 1500. Good luck all

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait!!! Here's another tidbit to consider before you get out the razor. 67% of Frisco's last 27 IL home games have gone under. Didn't want you to be w/o all the facts, LOL. GL whichever way ya go.
