Been using Expedia, they seem to have a decent rewards system. Especially booking from their phone app. 3x the points.
Is there any other sites worth checking out?

I don't use any of those sites to book travel, etc ..
It's like when using Priceline for a Car, I just get the price to see who has the best Airport location rental, then go to that site and Always get it cheaper
All you have to do is be a Member at that Car rental place.

I find that using these Hotel.com or Expedia type of places, there's mostly trouble or a problem a long the way.
and in most cases you can get a better deal with the Direct hotel or Resort.

most recently airbnb and orbitz. goseek and dealbase have some decent stuff from time to time but nothing that has matched my calendar. i saved nearly $100 night with orbitz in carlsbad back in april but was a little leery about the site...ended up being perfect other than the room was not facing the ocean (which was expected based on the rate).

i used AAA for my car and was basically same price as going to rental car place directly but figured i should get something for my annual membership fee. I was told Costco was THE best rates for rental cars but turned out to be completely false.

have done airbnb 2x and have one ready for Tuscaloosa in October for aTm game. other than never accepting early arrivals you can save a lot of money and usually have a house to yourself

Not loyal to any single booking site. Even used an actual travel agent last summer.

But 100% loyal to tripadvisor for information and to post my own reviews

I haven't had any luck going direct. Usually they are giving me a higher rate over the phone than that their website quotes. When I mention the website rate is lower, they say and I quote "Yes online rates are different, if it is less you have to book through there, we do not have access to online rates over the phone"

same here I always check the Trip Advisor reviews. I usually read a few of the 1stars because sometimes people complaints are just ridiculous.

I don't like going through the long process of checking prices everywhere but guess its a must to save a buck. I have found out that Hotels. com Expedia, Orbitz & I think its Travelocity are all owned under the same umbrella. Their rates 99% of the time are exactly the same. Even their promos are the same.

I tired Kayak once but like 30 new windows opened, it was a pain in the ass and quickly got off the site!
