helicopter ride to the canyon is pretty special, there are several that land on the canyon floor and let you walk around for 90 minutes

the views from the air, and especially at the canyon, are breathtaking

PS: I wouldn't do a bus ride, that excursion has to be painful

downtown at night, music and light show at the top of the hour

at least one headline show, plenty to choose from (cirque shows are awesome, as is the Jersey Boys)

dinner at the Vodoo on the top of the Rio had some pretty cool views

and absolutely do the High Roller Ferris Wheel behind the Linq, a must for something different (you might be able to get a free ride, visit a Harrah's Total Reward Center)

The heli ride is awesome! So is the Zion trip mentioned. The SkyWalk is awesome too. I think one of the scariest things I've ever done in life is the donkey ride to the bottom. How the hell that donkey does it or no one is killed still baffles me to this day, but I'm game to do it again...

No offense intended.....

As far as I know, the copter tours ONLY approach the far west end (Indian lands) of the canyon. Impressive if you have always been in, say Cleveland or Jersey..... Or some other armpit of American.

Comparing the heli tours to the REAL Grand Canyon is immensely inaccurate. Like a drainage ditch beside a country road.

The REAL Canyon is indescribable and incomparable to any heli tour!

I just got back from Moab, UT. We hit up Zion and Bryce. Very cool.

I'm doing this challenging "rim to rim" hike next week:

The National Park Service warns against doing what we're doing:
WARNING: Do Not attempt to hike from the rim to the river and back in one day!

As long as no one gets injured or cramps, we should be fine...

Amazing hike. One has to go here at least once in their lifetime.

We hiked 22+ miles, down and back up. I finished it in 12 hours, the others took 13.5.

Maswick Lodge -> Bright Angel Trail Head -> Phantom Ranch -> Phantom Ranch mail outpost -> and back

The trail head is in the middle top part of the picture, if you follow the trail down towards the edge of the canyon drop, there is an increase in vegetation (far left part of the picture about an inch in from the left). That is Indian Garden,
and at that point you're 4.6 miles from the top and 60% of the way down to the river.

8,000+ feet in elevation change on the hike.

One guy couldn't walk the next day.

If one doesn't want to go that far, the hike from the Bright Angel Trail Head to the water was 5 hours... or you can turn around at one of the rest stops along the way,
they have one at 1.5 miles in, 3 miles in, and 4.6 miles in

22 miles. 8000 feet.

You're in great shape, Zit.

Old days for me. Climbed a lot of mountains here in New England.

Don't listen to any of these dick-eating blowhards.

Here is the deal:

1. AM hours: Tour the Grand Canyon and comment: "Oh my what an incredible hole"

2. PM hours: Stare deeply into your girlfriend's vagina and comment: "Oh my what an incredible hole"

3. Midnight hours: Watch the movie "The Canyon" and you will have truly lived on this great planet!
