Let me start by saying they are my fave book, and usually on point. But this is some bullshit...

Bet an NBA Draft Prop last night that Gary Payton II would get drafted "over" pick 45.5 $250 at +120 or so. He goes undrafted so I win right?

No of course they grade it as a push. When I call to complain, they tell me that b/c he was "not drafted" that "over pick 45.5" didn't hit. Obviously this is some semantics based bullshit here. I guess I'm not going to win the battle with them, but in your guys opinion is am I getting screwed or is that a legit grading?? kth)(&^

I guessing that you have to think about it like .... you bet on the total of a baseball game, Totals are with listed Pitchers, if one of those Pitchers Don't start... throw out at least 1 pitch, then there's No Action.

In Football, you wager on "Joe Blow" to Rush for Over 45 yards, but he doesn't Play ... the wager is Voided ..

Just My 2 cents

hmm, my guess is they listed something like "player must get drafted or bet is void" otherwise i agree that you should get paid.

Title should be changed... Ripped off and heritage shouldnt be in same sentence..

"Curious decesion by heritage in grading" is a much more honest title

Fair enough thanks for input guys. Sorry wasn't trying to be inflammatory with the headline. I see the points as to why it would be graded as a push, but objectively speaking I won that bet fair and fucking square and that's just a fact. If they don't pay me b/c of language/semantics I'll live with it, but I fucking won that bet lol

and here is your answer ....

Payton is reportedly bound for the Rockets as an undrafted free agent. The son of the Sonics great Gary Payton profiles as a defensive specialist and could conceivably stick on a roster. The missing piece is his jump shot, which is likely a big part of what sank his stock.

did they say "player has to be drafted for action"?

just like they say for player props? "player must play"?

if not, then you won IMO

but it asks when will he be DRAFTED..he was not DRAFTED, so how can it be a wager?

Not even sure why anyone would think UNdrafted meant they would win wager on being Drafted Over 45.5 pick ??

if that exactly how the bet was worded, I could give them the benefit of a doubt, but that's playing semantics and the wording can easily lead to a misunderstanding

if it's simply an over / under bet, then the wording is a bigger problem

"player must get drafted for action" is required wording IMO, no misunderstanding is possible

or how about "player gets drafted from 46 to 60"

because there is a finite amount of picks to be made. if getting drafted <46 is a loss then going undrafted or drafted >45 should be a win. i think you are stuck on comparing this to an action bet.

clearly the spirit of the offer is that he was supposed to go around 45th pick so if you are taking OVER it is pretty obvious you either think he is taken >45 or not at all.

again, my guess is heritage specifically had a clause "player must be drafted" to grade this a no play

Just saw this. I posted the same thing. It was not Heritage though. Never said must be drafted for action. Seemed logical that if he was picked 46th 60th or never the over is a win. like betting an NBA player under 20 points but he didnt score and they saw well he had 0 so no action.

btw making this even more fishy is that there are only 60 picks so if they really meant "under 46 vs 46-60" then it should have been very obvious. it's not like this is NFL with 7 rounds...

If Jow Blow is in the game at any time, but doesn't get a carry, the under is the winner. Gary Payton II was in the draft from the first pick to the last.

Well I truly understand that Prop ....
and I know what I said, my example is not the same as this prop in question. That's why we would need to see the wording used in the wager
