Hey Guys,

I bet Gary Payton II over 45.5 in the NBA Draft. He never gets picked. Go to bed think i made a couple hunderd wake up and its graded as NO ACTION...... What the heck. Seems clear if he never got picked it is a winner on the over. A very popular preferred book was the one that said no action. Am I wrong to feel jobbed?

he was picked up by the rockets, dont know how nba draft works. But technically he want drafted.

I'm sure it said, "player must be drafted for bet to have action"

So bet should be void IMO.

I was going to ask the other guy with the same bet, but different book to post a Screen shot of the wager...

If you can, it might help.

To me, since he was Un-drafted , it would be no action.

most of us would love to see the wording .. which might not be in the Graded wager, but the wager itself

I just fail to see the logic where he went undrafted so it should be no action. It's not like the guy tragically died the day of the draft and therefore wasn't picked hence no action. He was a projected mid to late 2nd round pick and never got picked end of story. No language stated he had to be picked. You would assume since there are 60 picks and he did not get picked then over is a winner. Sure if the draft had 3 rounds he would have eventually been picked. The bet was not will Gary Payton be drafted yes or no? Bet that is essentially what they are saying but put a number up 45.5. Line was accurate this is just a way of them deciding for whatever reason based on a number of factors unknown to the bettor it is in their best interest to cancel the bid.

Would have to say must get drafted to be no action. I would have thought it was a winner also.

I actually agree with no action. The way it reads is draft position over 45.5 so to me he needed to get drafted for action. Since he didn't get drafted he has no draft position therefore a number doesn't exist to determine over under. I see what you're saying but if I had that bet I would have expected it to be void. If I had under and lost the wager I would have been pissed. You said he would get drafted after the 45th pick but that outcome didn't happen so I don't see how that's a win.

I side with the player on this one, unless there was specific wording stating he had to be drafted for action.

In the absence of that wording, the spirit of the wager is such that I believe this to be a winner.

I would think they would have to detail that he must be drafted in order to make that no action. Just my opinion.
