Kevin Durant reportedly choosing between these six teams

The Kevin Durant free agency sweepstakes are set to begin in less than a week, and Durant has reportedly narrowed his decision down to six teams.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, Durant’s representatives at Roc Nation are working to finalize meetings with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics. Wojnarowski reports that the Thunder are still the favorites but that the Warriors “have Durant’s attention.”

The two surprises on the list are the Clippers and Celtics. The Clippers don’t have enough salary cap space to sign Durant, so they would likely need to move one of their core pieces. Interestingly enough, a previous report indicated that L.A. would not hesitate to swap Blake Griffin for Durant.

Perhaps the biggest advantage the Celtics have is that they have enough cap space to sign two max free agents. There have been rumblings that Durant wants to play with fellow free agent Al Horford, and Boston could sign both K.D. and Horford without shuffling much around. Durant has supposedly given the Celtics a list of players he wants to play with, and there’s a good chance Horford is on that list.

If you read what Durant said earlier this month about his decision, you know he is not interested in playing in a market like L.A. just to make more money in endorsements. Since the Thunder were so close to reaching the NBA Finals this season, a two-year deal with an opt-out after the first still makes sense if Durant wants to give his current team one more shot.

if not back to the Thunder ... he will be Miami bound ...

I dont think that's true.

Everything I read is that winning is the most important thing to him....
Not quality of life.. FL no state tax and obviously great winter weather... but going to Miami doesn't really give him that much better of chance to win a title... Well, idk i think i talked myself out of that logic.. West to East.. significantly easier lol

Imagine the hate that we would all have to be hearing if this was Lebron thinking of joining the Warriors or Spurs :ohno:

I think OKC's big draft night trade was the best way to keep Durant. The Thunder got a massive return for trading Ibaka.... Before that trade, Orlando had to be the hardest to pronounce team in the NBA. Olapido, Ilyasova, Vucevic, Hezonja, and they tried to add Sabonis. If they ever had a group email chain with the entire team, I guarantee you half of those emails would end up in a spam folder somewhere..At least now OKC has part of that problem. A problem i can live with...

You mean like he did with the Heat joining Wade & Bosh and then Cleveland teaming with Irving & Love?

:think2:

Since Lebrons rookie year...
Spurs/Warriors combine for 6 championships and have had 4 mvps.
Heat/Cavs 1 championship with Wade & Shaq and 0 mvps

Spurs never less than 50 wins a season, every year one of the favorites for the championship
Warriors being compared to best team ever + 2 time MVP

Cavs were worst team in the league, multiple seasons. Love arrived after Lebron.
What KD is considering now is similar but much more to the extreme. Which is why the Lebron hate would have been much more extreme. Both times Lebron wasn't leaving for any proven teams. Both Spurs & Warriors are proven and established. Still favorites to win the West with or without KD

No way Westbrook resigns in OKC next year and KD knows this - everything about Durant's demeanor and personality screams one team - everyone knows where the professional humble stars go to play - he thinks the world of Pop too and has been open about this - they would be a virtual lock to win and it would be the greatest front court of all time - I consider it a done deal - I know the article above says 6 teams are involved but 3 teams have free agency meetings set with him - OKC, GS and SA - Golden State is a media circus now - in SA the players have a job - to play basketball as a team - no one is fucking anyones girl, bringing a gun to practice, worried about where the after party is, etc.

well if three superstars shopped their services together and

KD has a show called "The Decision"

and KD has a coming out party predicting "not 1, not 2, not 3, not......

KD can't screw the hometown he grew up in and claims to love, breaking their hearts with the decision (so we skip this one)

and then KD blames the criticism on racism

then maybe you'll see some hate
