Bankrate.com reported a survey showing that 81 percent of consumers had less than $100 in cash on them. The San Francisco Fed reported that in 2014 only 14 percent of consumer purchases were made in cash; the rest were in some form of electronic commerce.

If casinos go cashless here in Vegas I probably wouldn't carry any cash at all.

Emergency c note if carrying a wallet . You should generally have a couple hundred bucks always. Money down guys the town / cash is king. I get much better service cause I pay cash from everyone. Nice new bills too. All heads facing the sane way. You should have enough money do that if someone robs you , you ain't gonna get hurt by just giving it up. " have a good time just don't kill me. And gimme my fucking license back , I ain't gonna to the registry for you motherfucker, now beat it. I have no idea what you look like

It is scary. With all the hackers and shit, all your accounts could be wiped clean without a trace easy.

Scary either way.

I know a guy that keeps over 2 million cash in his home in fire proof safes because he doesn't believe in banks/stock market etc.. Robbery or some crazy natural disaster and he goes from a multi millionaire to broke instantly

I find the opposite to be true. People look at you like you have two heads if you even try to pash cash for anything. And NO ONE has change if you are trying to pay with 100 dollar bills

Visa wins in a cashless society. They will up their charges big time. The government will know every transaction you do. The article I'm reading also cites a study done by the Soviet KGB in the 1970's which concluded the best and cheapest way for the government to control the populace was to implement an electronic payment system.

I have ONE bill that I still write a check for and that's it. The guy who cuts my grass doesn't have online bill pay lol

I still write some checks for some bills, I'm just saying, I don't go to grocery store or Target or whatever and whip out the checkbook, that's weird

Almost never carry cash and will never ever carry coins. Will either leave them or toss them. The only metal I carry, makes a lot of noise or is very sharp.

toss them as in throw on the ground or in the garbage? I hope not, because that disgusts me.

I save my change. Cash it out before a trip and it always ends up being a few hundred bucks of extra spending money
