When I say bombarded that's an understatement. Something needs to be done. I have no idea how so many clowns get my number but it's almost to the point where I need to change my number.

Its insane .

I get this one call from an online pharmacy at least 4 times a day. I ignore the call 9 out of 10 but every once in a while I answer and cuss out the foreigner and tell them never to call again only to call over and over again every single day.

Then I get a call everyday about an extended warranty for my vehicle .

Then I get almost daily calls from someone pretending to be Google to promise me first page on google results for a business I no longer own.

Then I get calls from people telling me they are the IRS and I owe them money.

Then I get calls from companies that pretend like they are credit card companies or collection agencies telling me I own them xxx or I get sued and I never ever had a card with said company in my life.

And last but not least, the worst of the worst and these are the ones that piss me off the most.

Most of the above I mentioned I ignore and don't even answer but the following is almost impossible to ignore.

Now these telemarketers are getting smart.

They are using google voice or some other phone number masking service and they show about on your caller ID as a local call. So when you see it you assume it's legit because it's only only to find out its from someone in India trying to sell you fake viagra.

I literally get 25 fake calls a day.
It happens at all hrs of the day and night. I have to put my phone in ignore mode at night or I can't sleep.

What happened to the do not call list Obama was talking about a few years back. I thought these idiots were supposed to be fined thousands of dollars if they call you unsolisted.

This is way worse then land lines have ever been.

These clowns have almost turned my mobile phone number that I have had for over 10 years into a nuicense that is basically forcing me to change.

WTF

IRS keeps calling me with a recording that it's my last chance to settle before they sue me, but I can never get through to anyone when I try calling the number they give me.

Someone also called with a recording telling me to press 1 because I was qualified to refinance my mortgage. When I did that and someone came on the phone they hung up after I told them "you called me"

I sure am glad this didn't happen to me. But this really sounds annoying! Hope the phone calls have stopped now.

up until a year ago my cell (verizon) rarely was hit by scammers. however, since then, the scam calls have increased significantly and i just never answer if i do not know the telephone number. i guess that the scammers have branched out to cells and i am just wondering if other providers are having the same problem.

Start blocking the numbers. It's amazing once you black 4-5 of those numbers they all start to stop. Been down this road and it takes a little bit of time but it works out.

I am getting the car warranty call and some recorded message about good news regarding my credit.

I keep blocking the numbers after they call, but it seems to pick back up every few weeks.

The local number thing is driving me nuts. The ones I get are recordings telling me i can make an extra 5 k per month. I dont even listen to how but it is really getting bad. I have also had so really pesky tout services and no amount of cursing gets rid of em. The using of local numbers is such crap

Robo dialers now dial every sequence of cell numbers. My cell number first three digits are 257. The computer dials every combination. If the number hasn't been assigned yet it just goes onto the next. I block every telemarketer call. I don't answer but I do query the number using Google. There are several sites where these numbers are recorded and people post who they are. They will post a message saying credit card scam, timeshare scam or charity scam. How many calls a week they get from the number. The response if they tried to get company from calling. A few years ago cell numbers rarely if ever got scam calls. The Robo dialers would only call landline exchanges. Mobile numbers are an untapped market.
Your not going to be able to screen all of them. Say your driving and a number comes up from the Caller ID and the area code and exchange are from a city where you have relatives or it's a local area code. It could be a family emergency and
your being called from an unknown number. Your going to answer the number if your driving instead of letting it go to voicemail. Remember the old days when you paid to have an unlisted number. That's when telemarketers just worked from the phone book. Those days are over.

If done legally, telemarketing is a means to an end and can produce a 7 figure yearly income.

Some have built a career around cold calls...

I hate all of these scam callers. I need to use my phone and I dont always know if it business or bullshit.

I have Tmobile and now it is showing up calls saying:

Scam Likely

I love this so I dont have to bother picking up.

Maybe in the old days. But not today.
