There will be 26 new coaches in Division I football this season. Thirteen of these
coaches will be first timers with no experience at the head level. I'm listing the
schools by conference and how I think they will do this season. The Pac 12 is the
only conference with all head coaches returning.

ACC: Miami, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Syracuse
AAC: East Carolina, Tulane, Central Florida
Big 10: Illinois, Maryland, Rutgers
Big 12: Baylor, Iowa State
SEC: Georgia, South Carolina
CUSA: Southern Miss, UTSA, New Mexico
MAC: Toledo, Bowling Green, Ball State
MWC: Hawaii
INDP: BYU

Possible 10 win seasons: Miami, Toledo and Southern Miss.
Possible 2 win seasons: Hawaii, New Mexico, Syracuse, Central Florida, Rutgers.

..........during 2015 there were 15 schools with new head coaches. They combined
for a 89-99 won/loss record with Houston's Tom Harman going 12-1 and Kansas'
David Beaty going winless.

There were 7 coaches with winning records and 7 coaches with losing records. One
coach went 6-6. I have not broken these down against the spread at this time.

You are correct RT...thanks.

Let me add La-Monroe to the list for a possible 2 win season. Memphis will also be way down this year.

Did Bob Davie leave New Mexico? I couldn't find anything on the web to indicate that he is no longer there coaching. The last report was that he accepted a two year extension.

No, neither Bob Davie (New Mexico) or Doug Martin (New Mexico State) were replaced.

I've got to get my desk organized...too much clutter. Thanks Mr. C.
