Most of us are always trying to figure out who the best team in each conference is, but
it might be just as wise to do the same for the worst team. Here's a list of the worst
team by conference. If you differ, please let us know.................
AAC: Central Florida
ACC: Wake Forest
MAC: Kent State
MWC: Wyoming
Sun Belt: Idaho
CUSA: Charlotte
SEC: Missouri
Big 10: Purdue
Big 12: Kansas
Pac 12: Oregon State
Welcome your comments..........................
Clover, have to disagree with a few of these.
In the AAC, Central Florida should be an improved team this year. Their problem last year wasn't talent. Or I should say, just talent. They quit on their coach and completely laid down. With a new coach and a ton of returning talent I expect much improvement. The same can't be said about Tulane. With a complete void of talent and returning experience, the implementation of a new system under a new coach won't end well. I expect them to struggle on both sides of the ball.
I also expect Navy to take a major step back and finish near the bottom of the AAC.
In the ACC, I expect improvement from Wake. They will still be offensively challenged but return 18 starters - 9 on the O side. I will be shocked if they don't beat Ga Tech at home in their opener. Virginia (like others have said) shouldn't show much improvement. They just don't have the talent to compete.
Ga Tech is another that could challenge Virginia for bottom supremacy. They were horrible the last half of last year and could continue to struggle.
In the MAC, Kent State's D is solid and they return 10 on the O side. They should win a couple of conference games. The same can't be said about E Michigan.
E Michigan will get a challenge from Ball St, Buffalo and possibly even Akron but I expect them to end up on top - or should I say, on bottom.
You may be right about Mo in the SEC, but don't be surprised if the loser of the Vandy/USCe game ends up on bottom. All 3 of these teams are devoid of talent.
I don't disagree with your other selections but I do expect improvement from Oregon St.
