Just spoke with SMU's Larry Brown:" I'm stepping down." When I asked why? He said, "I've got nothing else to say right now. I have to text the parents of my players." Asked if there was a health issue, he said "I'm OK." Tim Jankovich has been the head coach designate since he left being the head coach at Illinois State to come with Brown to Dallas. So Jankovich will take over. He coached the Mustangs during Brown's nine-game suspension last season as a result of an NCAA penalty.

Larry wanted a 5 year deal. That is hilarious. He's already been at SMU for 4 years and the longest he's ever coached at one place was for 6 years. So the ultimate coaching gypsy of all time wanted a long term contract at the age of 75. Too funny.
