I like my daily routine for baseball capping and don't welcome the 4 day break.

I agree but this year I am doing something different that is keeping me busy. I've been 'capping soccer games. Never thought that I would be doing that. Not profitable yet, though.

Soccer is just so hard to watch.... I have tried many times but i am good for like 5 minutes.. I can see why folks riot all the time at those games.... nothing happens.. The frustration is or has to be overwhelming...

Watching American soccer is brutal. It's a lot of kick and chase, and running around aimlessly. Check out some of the top clubs or even national team play from Europe. It's a beautiful game to watch when played correctly. Albeit slower in action than some of the traditional American sports. But if you've never played the game, you don't realize how fast it actually is until you step on the pitch.
Thanks for all your help in bases PW. Can't wait for the second half to start. Congrats on your tremendous run to date.

Its like when you go to a bar.... and someone is watching SOCCER on TV ... You watch them and they are on the edge of your seat !!! Edge of your seat ?

It would be like watching someone at funeral hoping the guy gets up? I mean serious. Nothing happens. And they watch it with such passion... the ball gets to about 40 yards from the goal and it kicked out of bounds and the audience gasps ? Really? Its like if a batter came to the plate with no bat and swung and missed on 3 pitches...

Did you really think it was going to happen ? But they do and god bless them they are adorable...

NASCAR TOO... Hicks going left... People watch it with PASSION and I just dont get it...

Cheers to the fans... I just won't understand it...

This a super typical American opinion about the Beautiful Game.
And it's the reason that not even in 1000 years will be a main sport in the US and Canada.

Outside these 2 countries almost everywhere in this whole wide World is the King of sports, and almost all boys are dreaming about becoming football (soccer) players.

By the way...
Why do you think football (American football for the World outside the US and Canada) and baseball is nowhere a main sport except US and Can?

Because in all those other places it's viewed exactly like a typical American sees football (soccer): nothing happens, except a truckload of stoppage time, so typical to the American team sports. Plus baseball is seen that something horribly boring, which can be played even by 40 years old fat ass guys, who make millions for doing almost nothing (just standing around for most of a game).

I came to US in 2002. Before that I have never ever seen American football or baseball, but maybe just for a few minutes in sequences every once in a while on some Euro sports channels news.
But I watched at least 125 football (soccer) games live (my home city's team was in the 1st division of my home country), and who knows how many on TV... maybe 1,000. And had who knows how many wagers only in this sport...

Here after about 2 years I have learned to cap baseball and American football, but I still consider baseball very boring except if I am interested in a team I root for, or if it's 'a a very high stake game (playoffs, final game). So I watch few baseball games, but even fewer football games, actually in my life had no more than about 40 bets on football.

My second most liked sport after football (soccer) is hockey (of course, being almost like football, but just on ice, and it's the fastest sport in the world by far, and maybe the most spectacular), then basketball, and then everything else....

I think it is so popular cause of the fact all you need is a ball.... you can play anywhere with zero cost....

I have two boys that play hockey and its about $15K a year...ice time...equipment... my kid breaks a stick every freaking game.... those are expensive...so many kids dont play...

But with soccer any kid anywhere can pick up a ball and kick it around...I think that leads to the popularity ...

But it doesnt help with the game itself..

Just my opinion... never talk soccer so ...this is kinda neat...haha

I have tried to teach my father-in-law the rules of American Football, but it never lasts more than 5 minutes before he starts saying in his broken english "stupor game, all they do is jump on each other"

I watch english premiere league every saturday and sunday morning during the season. So many great players and exciting games actually. The games start at 4 :45 am on the west coast so by the time all the american games start I have already had a full slate of betting. Give it a chance you all may be suprised

WOW, lol...
Your wife and son must be in the 7th sky now after Portugal's unexpected Euro triumph!

They are happy for sure! My Wife's cousin is married to girl from Brazil, and they had a big baby shower for her and tied it into the Soccer game, for one big party. I would have watched if I went but had to be at office yesterday working (and posting on here)

Long time ago back in Europe the foreign championship I watched most was the Italian (and at that time - early to mid 90-s) was still the best in Europe), from England only more important games, and cup finals...

In the last 10 years most I watch is Spanish championship (but usually the best 4-5 teams playing each other), and "derby" games from England, Germany, Italy, France.
