Been Leasing for a while now ... Once I bought out the lease

Time for a change as my latest lease is up.. Could buy it out, because I have just under 15,000 miles

Haven't bought a Car straight up in years. As I like having a new Car every 3 years

Have done both. Have bought brand new, used and leased. Depends on your personal situation, but overall, I am of the belief purchasing a car with 20-30k is the way to go (let the other guy take the big initial hit)

it's a personal choice for you

if we're talking strictly a financial decision, you buy a car and drive it until it dies (if buying American, you actually buy one two years old with 20k miles on it, the depreciation is crazy)

leasing a car gives you more car for the money and you never have to deal with maintenance, you also get a new car every two or three years

if it's about economics, buy (with few exceptions)

if it's about personal choice and pleasure, leasing becomes a more attractive option

I'm currently leasing a 2015 Silverado. Owned a F-150 for years before this truck.
This is my first lease and I like how it's going. Did't put shit down for $, maintenance included for first 2 years, very reasonable payment.

I'm glad I leased because my gut is telling me I will be returning to Ford in 2 years.

PS: Infinities and Nissan almost always offer great leasing deals, as does Lexus sometimes

How about leasing then buying at end of lease? Would you save any money that way over the long haul?

Or would it be better to buy a 2 year old car?

Looking for pro's and con's as I am in the market for a car. Thanks.

I think the option is good for differnt people We would need to know your driving habits first. The other is financial position but this isn't really the right place to open up that discussion.

For most americans working and on a fixed income or close to fixed, I think the smartest route is to buy something in the 20-60,000 mile range the way they LOVE it to be loaded out. I stress love because they need to be happy with it. They need to put a pencil to the financing, money spent that this vehicle will really cost them and put an expected life expectancy on it, if money is a real diffuclt thing for said person or family, shop for an extended warranty to cover it till said time.

I think yo should try to finance that vehcile for 3-5 years, no more. Most people will have put at least 100K on it in five years and remember it already had some miles. So at this point it has 150 or so, you shouldn't have a note and then puts you in a good position to shop for the next one if need be.

Now if you drive very few miles, have a third vehcile, or drive a crap to of miles then all things considered change. Also towing if needed, passengers, etc. Tax incentives might also come in to play as well. Some people like truly "owning" it as well.

Grind out a deal on a 14 month old car, with 22 months full warranty. A reduction of many thousands, and a small reduction of new smell. A rental may fit, only if it's not a sporty looker. Always some flake that wants to see what it's made of, down that long winding country road, snaking to the large old abandoned gravel pit...

Tap into secured credit, if you need the dough-ray-me.

Only angle for true value.

If you buy a car and sell it after three years, your cost of ownership will be much less than the cost of three years of lease payments. Leasing is stupid.

Car is worth what it is worth after 3 years. Buy it you have much more to put down and a bigger payment . Un clear on the concept ?
