I think Houston is a long shot. Texas wont have any of that. They'll work out the BYU dilemma before they add UH.

I thought that uconn should have been the team to go to the Big Ten before Rutgers....but the recruiting and tv sets are what moves the needle.

Houston already cuts into OU and OSU's recruiting. If they were in the Big 12 it would be much worse.. So no, I doubt they approve of Houston any more than Texas would..

Speaking of UCONN, anyone else find it surprising how bad Edsall did at Maryland? I thought he did a great job at UCONN and thought the Terps had made a good hire.

he did a GREAT job laying down the foundation for UCONN...of course I do not know all the details, but as an outsider, I thought he should stay a couple more seasons. He claimed Maryland was his dream job but that is hard to believe.

Probably not, but at the time I heard the intent was to piggyback off of the yankees channel. Dont want to call it a backfire, even at the dawn of cord cutting, because the new contract is a boatload of money. Even still, the recruiting factor alone has paid off. New Jersey has dried up for other conferences with the elite recruits. The Big Ten's top programs are landing most of those kids since.

and I know it is about football but man, UCONN basketball men and women are powerhouses and they have other good teams as well...and even though it is about fb, rutgers? really?

agree, but unfortunately the conferences only care about football

well I'm a college hoops fan first, so I'm cool

they ripped the BEAST apart, I'm over that and no longer care about conference affiliation, I only care about hoops and March

I can never be a fan of another conference, I'm genetically incapable of such

I haven't watched the NHL since the Whalers moved, so I'm good at this

Mitt Romney reportedly pushing for BYU to get into the Big 12
By Matt Brown  @MattSBN on Aug 23, 2016, 5:56p +

Perhaps BYU’s most famous alum is reportedly getting into the game

Everybody and their brother is getting involved when it comes to politicking for Big 12 expansion. Houston has the Governor of Texas tweeting his support. Cincinnati has the Governor of Ohio reaching out. Memphis has...uh, Justin Timberlake. The list goes on.

BYU hasn’t had anybody with that level of star power reach out yet, but that may have changed, as BYU’s most powerful alum is reportedly now making phone calls on behalf of the Cougars.
