I said it the other day, dude is notorious for blowing it. If you're a gm and have him on your team to be a closer, you probably give Chris sale a vacation between starts for cutting up a jersey. Which means use pretty dumb

I've said it a million times. Closers are the biggest joke in baseball. Most over rated thing, possibly in sports. It's silly. The OP should know, there was Mariano Rivera and then everyone else. Closers do not matter.

I disagree, slightly. There is someone between Rivera and Robertson. See Andrew Miller, Chapman, Jansen, Davis, etc. Robertson is a middle reliever pitch to contact guy at best.

sure, but I just mean how silly it is that teams care that much. Sox won 3 WS last 12 years with 3 different closers.

Papelbon is the worst... this guy comes out of the pen for a save when I am betting, I just tear up my ticket... Even when he was good, he was like throwing matches at a gas pump... you were just flirting with disaster....

I honestly was out in vegas and I had the phils up a few runs and they ran him out in the 9th... I stood up...TORE UP MY TICKET right there in the MGM and stood while he gave up like 3 or 4 runs on like 3 walks... and a slew of hits

3 solo homers is a pretty special achievement. 2 on 1-2 counts. Guess he made em hit it. Papelbon story is classic. I used to be that way with Rodney when with Seattle.

Yea...Dan Wheeler was another one... he was more of a middle guy but god DANG every time I was betting the Rays at the time and they would wheel this mutt out and I would just gasp.... he was a guy that looked like he should be helping me to grill out that day over pitching in the SHOW

And it was LIGHTS OUT... he roll for 4 or 5 runs and my ticket was lost.... god I hated that dude...haha
