Oh and good call fading Archer MLD

Danny Duffy might have a unique gift of Mental Toughness that it'd be so excellent to see in more pitchers. His Post-Game interview was excellent, suggested that he could be one to keep an eye on. He's been in this spot before, on the precipice of a No-Hitter then losing that Late and in that Post Game interview there was much less of the "down and out" stunned sadness one sees from pitchers coming so close to the Career-Elevating & Status-Boosting No-Hitter. Dude was actually Jubilant laughing saying:

"I LOVED The Pitch Call from Sal (Perez, Catcher) I just missed my Spot. Got the ball up, located the pitch poorly."

Impressive attitude, Oh-So-Close DEALING WITH IT not with just GRACE but Humor and taking responsibility Game = STRONG. ON Danny Duffy's part.

Plus the fact that In-Game, needing just 6 more outs for the No-No, he misses on that one pitch so loses the No-Hit Bid yet he strikes out the next two guys, in a Strong Manner.

You know, K11 Knows....pretty much all Baseball Betting Guys have experienced it....you have a Bet on a pitcher who then loses a No-No LATE and it's like: "Oh Hell. Here We Go." We end up losing that Bet.

Danny Duffy ventured nowhere even close to the neighborhood of being "shook". No Where throughout the aftermath of losing the No-Hitter.

To such a degree in fact that it struck me as Unique and very Impressive.

I have this Neurotic thing where I am afraid to back guys off of No-Hitters or Late (normally devastating, to some degree anyways, to a Pitcher) loss of a No-Hit bid so I don't know that I'll Play On Danny Duffy his very next out, will depend upon Matchup etc. but I feel like this guy might have some Unique Promise.

The Archer Fade is Hilarious bcuz it illustrates the best that any thing could what I LACK and what separates me from Highly Successful baseball bettors which is DISCIPLINE. Make a Plan, Locate a +EV Betting Situation and STICK TO THAT.

Start of baseball season I made The Archer Fade a Main Tool in my Arsenal, based on stuff I'd seen from him last season + a lack of confidence in Tampa Bay Rays "Offense"....

Below (Green Square start of year) we see the Archer Fade came out the gate MAHVELOUSLY, 4 Wins 0 Losses first 4 with Archer fade I felt like a total Baseball Betting GENIUS but then Archer seemed to get his shit together, I was forced to give 3 games back :(

4-3 now and of that wasn't bad enough those 3 came against Competent Offensive Teams BALT, TOR and LAA.

At least I THOUGHT LAA were competent....at that early point in the season

hhRqnuh.jpg

There at 4-3 with The Archer Fade I was Shook. Archer had performed above my expectations. In Spots versus teams that I was the most confident The Archer Fade was safe.

Discipline left The Room, I went in to "Observe Mode" on The Archer Fade, partly cuz I was doing well with Team Total Unders....but mostly bcuz i simply lack Discipline and Courage, with baseball betting.

Archer's 8th Start, at SEA, I miss a chance to cash, then comes a REVENGE GAME for TORONTO, Jays at HOME in this Spot....Archer beat TOR just 18 days earlier at TB....

Yeah. I am on this. Archer Fade in full effect, Tampa Bay bats come to life they score as many runs in that game as it usually takes the 5 GAMES (at the least) to score...12 Runs

Thats the 2 Red X's.

I do not just lose. Tampa Bay Dismantles me and The Jays 12-2

4-4 now...-$$$ on Archer Fade. :(

Additionally, and more importantly....I am completely DeMoralized. On The Archer Fade. :(

Which has started the year so Brilliantly.

Totally off the Archer Fade then Tampa Bay loses his next 3 starts, I notice that and feel like an Idiot Missing The Boat so get back on "Surely at Arizona...AZ Bats can get to him I must re-find my Discipline and Fade Archer here cuz I am totally missing the boat."

Lose.

Thats the Red X's.

4-5....Archer Fade :(

Utterly Shattered, at that point, I am off The Archer Fade again and TB loses Archer's next 7 Starts.

I did use 2 of those in Entertainment Play Parlays but

I'm an Idiot.

This "backstory" of My Archer Fade though is why I made that post in the POD Thread....Its a Genuinely Hilarious situation, one that "You Had To Have Been There", i.e. Lived Through It bet by bet to really "get" the Hilarity of it but fellow gamblers who play "Systems", "Auto-Plays or Fades". Bet into particular situations.....some of these guys might understand.

Thru that 7 game losing streak every GAME I wanted to jump back on, with the exception of HOUSTON & DETROIT so 5 games I wanted so badly to get back onboard but I was terrified of Archer beating me again.

As that would have caused me to go insane.

Some here would argue "that ship has already sailed."

Chart reveals ^^^^^ Archer does not see the 7th inning too often.

Did not work out well for him venturing into that 7th then that 8th yesterday but, as I also mentioned in the POD Thread, he delivers an 8 and 1/3 Two Run 5 Hit (or thereabouts) performance, I give him Props.

Danny Duffy does not deliver 16 Strikeout dominance, Amazing Fastball plus a Change-Up that was masterful in that game and damn Archer, I could very well have somehow managed to find the Wrong Side of Archer again.

Which would have seen me arrive at 4-6 on The Archer Fade, managing to BE on that Wrong Side and LOSE every single one of his Six Total Wins. :):)

great post ML Dog....:toast:

My Ultimate Downfall is I try to "Cherry Pick" Spots....

To USE "Systems" that smart guys would just USE. With Discipline....

Instead of That I stupidly try to "Maximize Value" by picking spots......especially in baseball.

How Sweet It Would Have Been.....to have been able to RIDE that 7 Game Archer TB Losing Streak.

Important Point here, POSSIBLY is....Archer's TEMPERAMENT and how that gets affected by the lack of Run Support ongoingly from TB Bats when you combine that with the chance that just passed for him to get traded to a contender which did not happen

so that HAD to be disappointing to Archer

plus he had to watch his Friend and fellow TB Pitcher Matt Moore get that.....moved to a serious contender.

Especially here within an Even-Numbered Year.....serious contender.

Matt might win a RING

while Chris has to stay with Too-Little Run Support Tampa Bay with a "questionable temperament".

On Top of all that and STUNNINGLY:

In 14 of Chris Archer's now 15 Losses Tampa Bay bats have produced for him 3 Runs or less. :(

I have no idea how this thought to be Hot-Headed guy has not completely lost his mind but instead managed to keep it together to the degree that he has and continue to pitch to a level that has surprised me at least.

5-15 Record now for Chris looks so bad but, objectively, he has handled this and IS handling this better than I expected he would be able to.

Just "Food for Thought"......for remaining Archer Starts.

I've No Clue personally where I am at on The Archer Fade at this point in time....I've been focusing on UNders and will probably continue to make that my focus + eyeballing certain teams i expect to get it going 2nd half.

Rays send lefty Matt Moore to Giants

only thing I ask when you point out 3 runs or less for Archer, how does that rank in comparison to when others pitch?

Can't be very good, at all, with TampaBay #26 of 30 in The League on Runs Scored, 411 Runs Produced. :(

I was cashing well with TB TT UNders a while back, Fell Off that train for some reason. I Jump Around to "Angles" too much also. :(

......Yet MORE lack of Discipline. :(

I like to Work a Variety of Things though.....for better or worse.

Thats an example of a Good Brave Bet that I like to see and wish I had the courage to make, at times. TX at Baltimore, Yu Darvish back. Line was TIGHT on that game, Linesmaker be seeing a coin flip I guess....Yu Darvish 7 Ks thru 4 innings.

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Derailed after early brilliance

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

July 28, 2016 12:22 am

Bundy
allowed three runs on just two hits and walk over 5.2 innings while striking out eight and taking a loss Wednesday against the Rockies.

What initially looks like a pedestrian line was anything but for Bundy, who carried a perfect game into the sixth inning with one out. But Bundy was yanked with two outs in the sixth after giving up a walk and a pair of home runs on hanging change-ups, finishing the start with a season-high 89 pitches.

(Bundy at 61 Pitches right now through 5 innings has a No-Hitter thus far but has walked a guy)

The start was just Bundy's third of the season, and Baltimore appears to have him on a tight pitch count, as well they should given Bundy's long injury history.

Bundy said after the game that he was actually disappointed with his season-high eight strikeouts, citing it as something that raised his pitch count, rendering him unable to pitch deeper into the game.

Bundy owners shouldn't expect too many innings from him going forward, but Wednesdays start was certainly an encouraging one overall.
