A note of caution here. Jake Odorizzi is coming in with a 14 and 2/3 inning scoreless streak and has been pitching much better of late. The assumption would be that the Ray's are going to be able to hit Edison Volquez. However, facing Ventura last night, who had all sorts of control issues, the Rays went a staggering 1-14 with RISP. The Royals even helped with two errors. The Rays should have smacked them silly, but they didn't. That's the Rays, they are just awful with RISP. Have been for ages. Then once and a while they will come alive and bust a game wide open. I hope that is the case tonight and I wish you the best of luck King. I just don't trust my Rays to get a man home off third base with no outs. They are that bad at the plate.
I will further admit that I took the Rays last night giving 1.5 on the RL figuring they would get to Ventura and that Andriese would put in decent performance, which he did. They brought me back to reality though as I watched scoring opportunity after scoring opportunity end with the runners left on base. Hopefully the bats come alive tonight.
