What would you tell a Canadian that wants to get into betting on college football? I follow and bet every pro sport but never college football. I want to get into it, I love the intensity and energy of it.

My question is how would I get to know the teams better, what's the key things I need to know about betting college ball?

For example, one buddy told me that unlike the pros, teams in college football don't sit on leads, they will continue to pour it on and on even when up big. That is a key difference and I'm glad I was told that.

Anything else?

Lol. Good one. I don't bet CFL. It's too erratic and unpredictable. Also it's 3 downs not 4 like college football and NFL so it's a lot different.

I'm just saying there's clearly a lot involved in betting college sports and unique aspects to it like that part about teams will pour on points even with a big lead. I'm just trying to learn something here. I'm moving to the States in September and would not only like to bet on college ball but watch some games.

Well your buddy's advice can't be taken as a whole, so throw it out the window. Teams not sitting on a lead and pouring it on vary widely based on the team and the Coach most importantly, and even could be influenced by who's next on the schedule or getting the bench players some playing time. Just never know...

Read Phil Steele's 2016 CFB Preview to get a good grasp on the teams.

I bet NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL. I mostly bet moneylines (dogs and favorites) and I love halftime bets in NFL and NBA. I do a lot of live betting in too. My best sport is NBA believe it or not. It's the halftime bets. I rarely do totals except teasers in the NFL where I will put a teaser down on overs ever single Sunday. Been working great for me.

Thanks for all the advice guys. The rest I guess I will learn the hard way by actually betting and watching the games and taking my lumps.
