What do people know about Overton for the A's? A reliever with a +9 ERA getting stretched out into a starter?

Cubs playing very well as of late and had an off day yesterday. RL looks good.

He is flat out terrible. I think we played against him recently with the Indians and they chased him after like 2 or 3 innings. Terrible

though lately Lester is a gas can on the road. I think his last 3 games he has given up like 18 runs or 20 runs... awful.......

GL K11, put that over in my team par, but if the Cubbies cover that RL, which I liked, figured over was a good bet as well.

He's had 2 decent starts and 2 bad ones. He's a young pitcher, we don't know what his level is. Its far too early to call him terrible.

This game won't be the cakewalk many of you think it will be. Lots of burned money playing against Oakland yesterday.

Biz, ya be killin me, LOLOLOL. Which of these is a good start:

07/30/16 @ CLE 3-6 144/9.5 L/U 3.1 10 5 5 1 1 3 61 18.3 0.25
07/19/16 HOU 4-3 165/8.5 W/U 6.1 9 3 3 6 0 1 107 16.9 0.50
06/30/16 SF 6-12 139/7.5 L/O 3.0 8 8 8 1 3 2 73 24.3 0.00
06/25/16 @ LAA 7-3 130/9 W/O 5.2 7 3 3 3 2 3 108 19.1 1.50

He hasn't allowed LESS than 3 runs, that's why I love the over, only thing I hate is that heavy air (LOL) you guys have out there in the Bay.

He gave up 3 runs in 2 of them. One he lasted into the 7th inning, the other into the 6th. That isn't awful. I also used the word decent. Which they were.

With due respect, I'm not someone to laugh at around these parts sir. My handicapping and analysis is better than many around here.

Some cat on another site says this is the 1st time he's played 20 units on a baseball game and he's been waiting for this game for a week. He assumed -270 or more because of who he feels is the worst pitcher in Major League Baseball, says he's watched every game he's pitched.

Ah shit, feel like the vampire on AMC's "Preacher" with that post.....it doesn't make sense to me either, preacher! Somewhere in that gobbablygoop is the fact he's given up 3-8-3-5 runs in four tries, the middle 8-3 were at home. Didn't mean to mislead anyone, but yes, I'm an AMC TV junkie, what can I say, "Breaking Bad" got me hooked, LOL.

Geezus T.

I said 2 starts were DECENT. Giving up 3 runs into the 6 or 7th inning isn't a bad start. I never said he's an All Star. He's young. We don't know his level.

Look, he might get hammered tonight. Its certainly possible. I'm just saying, not every start has been bad. Out of 4, 2 were not bad. That's all I'm saying.

BizMan (Now I got BossMan and BizMan) he gave up 8 runs in Oakland one game, 3 the other. How's that decent?

Well if he holds true to form tonight, it'll be three. I'll leave it to the A's batting and BP to give me the rest I need, and I like those odds. I hear ya man!

Good luck red. My number is going up and will continue to go up as people will chase with the cubbies since it's a late game. Friday always scare me for some reason.

T,

Are you testing my patience??

I wasn't referencing the 8 run game. Thought that was pretty clear.

And yes, I'm saying allowing 3 runs and lasting into the 7th inning is a decent start. If you can go into the 6th or 7th inning allowing 3 runs, you're either winning or at the least giving your team a chance.

And why in God's airspace would I do that, you're in the par tonight???!!! Just pointing out that this guy is really rough around the edges. So instead of playing Cubs RL in our par, took the over which I think is a safer play. Relax.

Overton has given up 34 hits and 9 Home Runs in 4 games. I wouldn't say there is much debate on his ability.
