Naturally....those who follow their home team usually can get some info before the sharps do...

IMO, you cant be an educated or rational gambler if you are unwilling to fade your squad if you see value.

Bet against Philly plenty the last few years, and have done well. Its an emotional hedge. If they win but I lose, I am at least slightly less pissed.

Never!!!

On them or its a no bet.
This. I can't emotionally handle it. I never bet against my team(The Chiefs) in a game that counts. Exhibition, or a game at the end of the season when they're locked in to a playoff spot, are the only situations I can do it.

one must be crazy not to bet against their team...you should know better than anyone when your team is in a good spot/bad spot

In 2004 when the Yankees were up 3-0 in the ALCS, I bet on the Red Sox to win the series, and I also bet on them each game thereafter. My biggest payday ever. The profit I made was small consolation to the pain of having to admit the Red Sox had not only broken "the curse", but that the Yankees had just pulled the biggest choke ever.
