What happened to the Rx I used to know?

Long time lurker, new poster here. Been coming to this backwater site for nigh on 20 years, back when ESB came at Ken the first time ('98?)

Kind of sad what this place has become. Full of nasty bullies, tico crackheads and thugs that hurl abuse and threats willie nilliy.

Why do I still come? I guess I keep hoping I'll get a glimpse of the glory years, 98 to 2006 when CR was hopping and the Rx was a fun site to hang out on.

What happened to the Rx I used to know, man?

I do not know the history here, but have learned what a ghost is over the past few weeks, and this smells like that. I enjoy it here in my short time here. Maybe it's you?

Couldn't of said it any better King. This is the same guy who was trying to bully you about a month ago. Everfresh. Old habits die hard.

Actually, "alf", I don't know anyone on here anymore and haven't "bullied" anyone on here ever. I think you're confusing me with someone else. I am, however, a long time lurker and first time poster. Work for a small internet startup in the midwest (near KCK) and do a little sportsbetting on the side, hence my interest

Bases99, like life, things come and go, its getting mighty close to football and this place will be jumping in another 3 weeks and will rock thru the Ncaa basketball tourney, then slow down again, same way it has for as long as i have been here,20+ years.

King im not sure im the one that should tell it, maybe another poster here would chime in on what happen back then.the rx was going great and the wil thing with this book happen and a lot of long time posters here bail very fast with all the lies and outcome of it

But not a full story...here at least.

This wasn't during my on of my "active" lurking periods here, but here's a thread that explains a little of the volatility. Sounds like Synbet was heavy recommended by RX previously and hosting/sponsoring contests. This thread indicates it was a shit show to the point Synbet management had to make a statement and then the ship still went down. Speculation at the end that this led to Wilhelm and OMT stepping down as mods (but that didn't take place in the thread above.)
