On ur home phone.. they screwd us... they used to offer a call screening feature in FL. for 1.00 a month. If a machine called u. if an unrecognized number called u. They had to say their name.. in case of a machine computer dial.. no name
. Ur phone beeped twice.. u heard name or machine then hung up in them..lol..
Nowadays that feature has been forgotten. Solicitors paid off the phone companies to stop offering it..
Now on ur cell phone I use HIYA. It's a free download, and works great!!

When I worked for BofA I learned that the fine for someone calling you when youre on "Do Not Call List" is $16,000. This is real apparently and if you tell the person calling that you're aware then they will stop calling. That's a stiff penalty no company wants to mess with. Google it.

Have you ever noticed that on certain days these unwanted calls come in waves? My neighbor and I always get called on the same day about the IRS ready to file criminal charges unless we call back and settle immediately. I just know that in a few years I'm going to be senile enough to start believing some of these scams.
It`s use to be bad at my place.....Luckily the no call device is working for me.
last couple years seems like 80% of the crap calls do not answer, say anything, or leave any sort of message. sorts of seems like they are just generating data about numbers that actually did pick up at certain times? to sell that info to other telemarkerters?
Had a voice message last month from a voice that sounded like Siri saying it was my last notice from the IRS and blah blah blah. Said I had to call some number blah blah blah. I do admit though just as soon as I heard it it made my heart jump a little but I quickly knew it was such a scam.
Also in the habit as soon as I get a call I never ever answer and I google the number. Always a scam or political "survey" of some sort.
