If it's Not a Sport ... Why does it get Reported on Sports Outlets ??

Nah but the concussions are certainly real.

Always thought when Hogan got busted for that N-word rant sex tape, he should've just claimed he had dementia. He must have had like 30 concussions in the 80's and 90's.

Although it requires athleticism, it lacks a performance based undetermined outcome so it's much closer to something like modeling

They should have a version of the oscars.

I think they do

or is that their, " Hall of Fame " ?? LOL

I'll admit, over the years I have followed ( watched WWE ) but I lose interest quick ... So I might watch like once or twice, then not for another 8 months +

at the risk of pissing some people off, I will take it a step further....a few things many consider a sport, that I do not....for years I debated what the requirements were for something to be a sport and I think I have come to the correct conclusion. To be considered a sport, you need it to have a "playing object' such as a ball/puck AND a defense. So that leaves out wrestling and car racing. Golf is tricky because my first response would be that it is not a sport, but perhaps we can count the holes as the defense? Seems like a stretch though. Please spare me the talk about how difficult it is to win a NASCAR race or "let's see you beat Hulk Hogan in a wrestling match" etc.....Because I cannot do something or just because something is difficult, does not make it a sport...most people that argue with me, the only argument they have is "let's see you do it"....I cannot fix my bathroom plumbing, but that don't make plumbers athletes!

I disagree because running/racing is probably the worlds first sport and there is no playing object or defense. I would say anything that requires physical activity and has a non-predetermined winner and loser can be considered a sport.

well no, you called it a sport (running) but that does not make it a sport...and your definition of a sport does not work either...are you really going to tell me that a cheer leading competition is a sport?

Shane O Mac jumping 50 feet off cages and scaffolds into tables is impressive. It is phony but those guys are hella good athletes. Green can you put up some Shane O Mac ?

It's Pre-arranged, athletic performance art. When done well, it's very exciting, and I'm a lifelong fan. I am quite amazed at the main stream coverage it's achieved lately. A dedicated section on ESPN, as well as a weekly interview segment, The NY Post had a WWE Summerslam prediction column, several Sportsbooks (Bovada, 5 Dimes, International ones) put up lines for limited action.

Cheerleading LOL that's a good point

Maybe to extend the definition something cannot be a sport if it is non contact with an opponent and judges determine the winner. Boxing would still be a sport because of contact but diving and gymnastics would be deemed non sports under this definition which I would be ok with

Bourn, but it is scripted, don't think that would fit in there because there is no actual competition. In addition, with some thought, I'm confident I could come up with a list of things that would fit into that definition that you would agree are not a sport
