Just wondering if we have any dog only players? If so, how has your season went, I know Sherwood has had a rough one. Anyone out there having a good underdog season?

Our baseball season is winding down and football is yet to really begin, thought I'd take this "in between" time to try out a dog only way of wagering.

I'll start out with a couple plays for Sunday night.

Royals +145
$200 to win $290

Bengals +125
$200 to win $250

I'm also going to go ahead and play one for Monday night now.

Cardinals -1.5 (+125)
$200 to win $250

Hopefully I won't lose my shorts.

Fenix RX Baseball
20-17
+1.20 units

Fenix NFLX
2-1
+0.80 units

I'll run this underdog only separate.

Have a nice day

King, do you think its possible to hit from 47-50%, playing underdogs exclusively. Playing teams that average a payback of around (+130), is this something that you think is possible?

Possible? Yes. It certainly would mean passing some days though.

I play mostly dogs on my ML bets. Haven't broken it down tho. 164-171 up almost 11 units.

A good friend of mine, an excellent baseball and football handicapper, plays mostly baseball dogs. This year he's 398-415 up 42+ units. Been playing this way for years and has had a lot of success.

There is no one way to be successful. PW plays favorites and overs and has had a great year. Others play mainly favorites and have had nice success as documented on this very forum.

I don't know if it's 100%...but check out ColdWeather's threads in the Tracker Forum. He also posts alot on in the NFL/College forums (or used to.) He picks mostly/all plus money or taking the points depending upon the sport. (If you're unfamiliar with CW his posts can seem...drivelish?...probably not the best word or even a word, but he knows what he's doing and on the up and up.)

If one were considering all major sports, how many underdog plays would you anticipate on a monthly basis? I'm not looking for an exact answer, just a ballpark figure. Thanks in advance.

It depends on the methodology of each handicapper. As King says its impossible to answer that.

Fenix: Good for you. Stick with it and you'll do well. Of course 47 to 50% is possible. It's very possible because dogs win EVERY SINGLE DAY, just like favs. Incidentally, I am stuck this year in baseball, as you know, and I'm also stuck overall on the year. Close to 60 units in fact. However, I have had 9 straight winning years prior to this year, documented. I really hope you do well...just stick with it.....BEST OF LUCK!!

Thanks for the response Sherwood, I always enjoy reading your write-ups, my best to you.

I'll see how it goes as I head down the highway of +++ plays only.

I'm not playing these, but these are the 2 dogs I feel have the best chance to win tomorrow.

Twins +163
Rockies +124

I've thought about this myself Fenix. Find the top 2 dogs for the day and hope to win at least one on most days. Especially this time of year when things get funky.

Thanks Mo, I'll definitely look at those 2 for tomorrow. I have already played Stl -1.5 (+125). My plan is to bet most of the dogs late, as a general rule of thumb. And yes this is a funky time of year, I hope its a perfect time for this endeavor. My best to you.

after 30 years of this-you cant play all dogs or all favs. i would say nowadays 55-45 dogs would be about right. if your playing only favs and home teams you will lose overtime. in fact away teams are the better choice.ive done pretty good over the years, mlb though is a favorite game most of the year, an you see pw he always so far plays favorite in mlb and overs an we know how great he is.

i would add one thing-they say bookies drive cadallacs, an they almost always need the away teams an mostly dogs. the house rarely looses over time.

So are you saying you can't play all +++ money plays (including run lines) and hit around 50%? That is really what I am asking here.

playing home runlines is a disaster. away run lines ok but home you will lose. you need to get at least to 55%.
