Why is a retire in tennis no action?

So let me get this straight. A guy can be getting his ass kicked, and quit, and you don't win your bet against him?

I can see cancelling all totals and set handicaps, but the ML should stand.

Don't you think that almost encourages corruption? :think2:

Why 2 sets for action on ML? ML action should be good after the first point is completed. Or at MINIMUM make it the first set.

No one will ever convince me this is logical.

This fag Thiem retires today down a set and a break and I don't win shit for calling the match absolutely correctly.

Yes it's total bullshit.
Nothing worse then betting correctly on a +800 dog that's kicking the favs ass only for the fav to pretend like he's hurt in the final set while getting his ass handed to him.

wasnt the case with Rafa yesterday cause the match was always 1-0 1-1 2-1 2-2 but... 2-0 I bet he considers it deep inside him

I rarely bet tennis but yeah it is an awful rule.

Is there another bet in sports that's comparable? I know in boxing, mma if a fighter doesn't want to continue it's a loss, whether due to injury or an ass kicking. In fantasy if your starting QB, RB, whoever gets injured or substituted for then tough luck, you're screwed.

What about in golf? If you bet a matchup whether it be for the round or the tournament, the player that withdraws because of a 10 on a par 3 still loses the matchup, right?

Action makes sense to me. If you bet action books need to give you the adjusted line or they could potentially get the shit arbed out of them on every pitching change.

This, OTOH, is ludicrous.

Yeah, but he has retired right before a match a bunch of times, big matches. So what's better, to start a match and try to give it a go, or to keep that non-retire streak going by
not even attempting to go out there play, and pull out 20-30 minutes before the match starts?

Thats been my Experience. I've lost a few Golf Matchup bets due to W/D (A Withdrawal Pre-Tourney on a TOURN Play = Cancelled wager).

Not sure if I've Won any on a Mid Round or Tourney W/D. Seems like a thing I should know but actually I only "investigate" the Golf Matchups I lose to see how far off I was, on a player which helps me ascertain "Form", try to see where I went wrong.

I feel like this Tennis Rule re: W/Ds stems from past "bad stuff", "unsavory dealings" and goings-on if you catch my drift.
