Delaware casinos won $281,000 from online gamblers during the month of July, according to figures released by the state lottery.
That was an increase from $142,000 in July 2015. July 2014 yielded $172,000 in revenue. The state’s online gambling industry launched in late 2013.
Of the $281,000, roughly $161,000 came from the video lottery, while $86,000 and $33,000 were won from the table games and peer-to-peer poker, respectively. July 2015’s breakdown was $75,000 for the video lottery, $39,000 for the table games and $28,000 for poker.
In June, it was four straight months of new record highs for Delaware’s online gambling market. Revenue from online casino play was $304,874.30 in June. That beat May’s $282,112.30 in I-gaming win, which was the previous record. It also followed the $267,801.30 won in April and the $260,539.30 taken in during March.
The market contracted in 2015, but this year will have a big rebound for the online casinos.
Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway are the state’s three online gambling operators. The state has a liquidity sharing deal with Nevada for poker.
Delaware Park led the way in July 2016 with $130,000 in online gaming revenue, followed by Dover Downs with $114,000 and Harrington Raceway with $60,000.
New Jersey is the third state in the country with regulated online casinos, though California, Pennsylvania, Michigan and New York are all considering it.
