[h=1]Segregation Or Sanctuary? Black-Only University Housing Draws Criticism[/h]
Some are calling it segregation and a step backwards, while others say it’s a boost for the black student population. At Cal State Los Angeles, a new housing program opens up dorms for black students who want to be separated from the rest of the campus.

The housing option is generating criticism on social media. The campus is setting aside 20 spots in their 192 unit dorm complex for African-American students and others who share similar interests or concerns.
A similar housing option is available at UC Davis.
“I think we should support different communities wanting to be together, but there shouldn’t be specific White or Black or Asian dormitories,” says UC Davis student Teresa Chylkova.
Sydney DeLone is the president of the Black Student Union at UC Davis. She spent her freshman year living at Campbell Hall, at the African-American housing complex, where roughly 45-70 students are accommodated per year. DeLone says
DeLone says it’s a positive opportunity for the black student population to have a home base to come home to.
“It was definitely a safe space because you see people that look like you, that are going through the same things you’re going through,” says DeLone.
UC Davis has offered this housing option for two decades now, and university officials say they do not shut anyone out.
“Many of our students who live in this community identify as African or African-Americans, but we also have a number of students who do not, and they want to be there to learn from other students,” says Brenden Petitt, director of the Office of Student Development.
Similar to UC Davis, a Cal State LA spokesperson says they too allow all students to apply for the housing, even if they’re not of African-American descent.
At UC Davis, the program has proved to be successful. Graduation rates are high among black students who live in the African-American theme program.
But still for some, the idea of housing for one specific minority group simply sets us back decades and runs counter to the aims of the civil rights movement.
“What’s next? Are we gonna have Hispanic only, white only?” says Tim Donnelly, a former CA State Assemblyman. “Using tax payer dollars to segregate society, I think is probably offensive to everyone.

Let's just get right to it and give them Alabama, Louisiana, Miss., and Arkansas. No one would be downstream the Miss. river from them and we could build walls so we don't hear all the complaining when things go "South".

They don't get any states. My God, do the reperations ever end? They will end when someone the world views 1,000 times worse than Trump comes to power.

They have their own housing.. PRISON. To the future prisoners, you still have your own housing. Inner City GHETTOS.

What they should propose is deportation or work camps. Make them truly pay for the damage they have done.

Homeboys without white help is equivalent to modern day Somalia. Africa has been a shithole for generations for a reason.

Why can't we give the Black Population a Vote? Upon whether they would desire Segregation?

Let them state what they want, how they would have this be?

Feels like a good percentage of them would Vote in favor of splitting off from Non-Black America.

What am I missing, with this idea? What would be wrong in allowing them a Vote on whether to pursue Segregation? Or Not?

Could be a potentially productive first step? To overcoming the problems that exist between Blacks and those they despise.

Exactly. Then when/if things go to shit they will no doubt blame whitey but we won't have to listen to it.

Vlad I'm not offering states because I think they deserve them, I'm offering to get them out of our hair and the educated blacks can try to take care of all this bs on their own. They already tried this with Liberia and no one wanted to go so we might have to sweeten the pot with free cell phones or something.

It is important to keep in mind that we are hearing from "that squeaky wheel", that percent of Black People that are other than the intelligent Black people that you mention, of course. Upwardly Mobile Black People do exist, in great numbers. We can't let The Media & Social Media which are fueling this fire render us Blind to the fact that there are vast numbers of Black People who do not cry about everything like teething 2-year old's with Colic.

Forced to post it yet again, this Video cuz no one has ever said it better and more honestly, what we deal with ("we" being....not JUST White People...dealing with this):

And we should remain Mindful that even were they to Vote to Segregate, how would that actually get accomplished? And we'd still have to support them financially, right?

I guess mostly I am Curious as to what Results of such a Vote would look like, Blacks Voting Yay or Nay to Segregation.

Thanks...but no one understands the plight of the homeboy better than me.

Generalizing is code for stereotypes. Why do you think they exist? Nope, not ignorance....it is because they are true.
