The waiting game is over for Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson, who has reportedly (finally) been suspended 10 games for violating the league’s performance enhancing drug policy.

Johnson has known this was coming for a couple months. The NFL informed him of the impending suspension back in July, but it was put on hold until the league received results from his B sample.

According to Jeff McLane of Philly.com, the results of that sample tested positive for a banned substance. Johnson was informed of the results after Monday night’s big win over the Chicago Bears. He will appeal the suspension.
“If the arbitrator upholds the suspension, Johnson will be suspended for the next ten games, starting with the Lions game on Oct. 9,” McLane wrote. “He would be eligible to return to the team on Dec. 12 and play in the final three games of the regular season.”
Johnson has maintained he checked with the NFLPA and the Eagles regarding the supplement that contained the banned substance. He also blasted the union for not sticking up for its players (more on that here).

If the offensive tackle is suspended for 10 games it will be a blow to the Eagles, though the team has been bracing for it and preparing for it since training camp.
