I am very interested to learn why this is the case. I know we all have our theories.

I wonder what the ratings are for the NFL Redzone?

The NFL is unwatchable with all the commercials.

L5Y, USC is 4-0 vs SEC, outscoring them 167-48!!!

It might be oversaturation but the NFL is still going to crush all other programming on a Thursday night unless the Browns are playing the Jaguars.

If you think it is overkill then don't watch but it is still a $ maker obviously.

The quality of play on Thursday Night's is not nearly as good as on Sunday/Monday. I wish they'd get rid of Thursday games. My guess is the ratings are lower, because there are so many stoppages of play, the fan who isn't watching RedZone is going nuts. Thank God for the RedZone channel.

I believe that the drop is due to ads made to target a demographic that is not that which watches football. Allstate Insurance, for example, once a proud, esteemed American Company now presents this as the face of it's company in ads during football:

allstate-4.jpg

and thats just one example of many....ads that feature flamboyantly gay characters, blood-curdling screaming and hollering characters totally spazzing out. Millennials are producing TV ads for the Millennial Demographic and its seems obvious that Far-Leaning Left Millennials are using TV ads as a means to express their beliefs and, at the same time, effectively "punish" that demographic that disagrees with what they believe.

Which is the demographic that watches football. "Macho" "CisGender" etc. activities and those who value these are the absolute enemy of the Feminists, LGBTwhatever and Far-Left leaning Liberals that (it should be obvious from the type of characters used in ads) are in charge of content of the ads.

They're using these ads as bludgeons and sane rational white guys (longtime football viewers) are getting driven away by the psychologically terrorizing content of their commercials.

Why should the act of merely watching a football game cause one to be deserving of the absolutely horrific punishment that it is to have to suffer seeing this:

there are guys that find themselves in a place that having to see that ^^^ and the multitudes of other Black or Gay and/or shrill completely Vexating characters in the ads has become just too high a price to have to pay. To watch Football.

A big factor was already mentioned in the Red Zone channel but a lot of people ditched cable and are streaming games online from so many various sources.

Ownership greed is a turn off for many as well.

Agree, yeah, but I swear it seems like the ads have gone from Unwatchable to just plain out Horrific. Obviously though....Cable Cutting a yuge contributor plus Red Zone Channel but as WiilYe mentioned in this or another thread.....He's a UNDER bettor so watching RedZone Channel is, like, taking time off of his LIFE. Due to the Stress it causes him.

Possible "Niche" for a new channel to get created, similar to The RedZone Channel but designed to appeal to UNDER Bettors...

"Totally NOT in the RedZone Channel?!!?"

I've said it already in a couple threads.. Without redzone I have no interest in spending a Sunday watching football. All commercials and reviews and discussion about reviews. It's simply boring and not worth devoting hours almost a full day to.

I've left my house to do other stuff three Sunday's in a row.

Doesn't "Cable Cutting" disable one from getting Local Channels as well though?

To my knowledge Local TV Channels are Digitally Delivered now so No Cable = No TV period.

Thats what I thought, anyway.

No, our TV in the kitchen uses a HD antenna and we not only get local channels, but about what seems like 80 Spanish channels.
