Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert took his car to Motion Lab Tuning, and did not have a good time.
Tolbert's Instagram post is troubling, but in any dispute, there's two sides to every story.

Motion Lab Tuning published a post on Facebook a few hours after Tolbert's complaint, and claimed he was the one who was being rude.
Here's their post, in full:
Today was a huge waste of time and a major disappointment. Many of you may know who Mike Tolbert is. He plays for the Carolina Panthers. He had an old car at the shop for a motor swap. You might think because he is a professional athlete he would be a fair and ethical person.
From the beginning, he attempted to get us to do work for free because he is 'Mike Tolbert'. So today, I am disappointed that it came to this, I had to call the police on Mike Tolbert. He and his buddy threatened me. CMPD actually banned him from the property today. They forced him to pay his bill before leaving though. In a passive aggressive manner, he thought he would get the last laugh by paying in coins. Pretty dumb really. All $3,900 in coins were easily identifiable as they came from a bank in boxes and perfectly counted out. I will say this, those coins will be taken in the boxes they came in and will be taken to a teller at BOA for deposit.
Now he is slandering me, saying things that weren't true. Name calling, etc. Jesus man just pay your bills and be a good person. I also have to break it to my son who is a fan of Mike Tolbert that he is a real scumbag that doesn't want to pay his bills.
There's a special place for guys like Mike Tolbert. People like him that try to cheat a small business. Shame on him for this type of behavior.
Clearly both sides are upset, and in situations like this the truth often lies somewhere in the middle.

Seeing how the business owner didn't respond to the quoted price or quoted time frame I'm left wondering honestly. If I was mike I'd probably try to get a deal as well, it's good PR to say you did his work in the area for the shop owner, so no problem at least asking. And if I was quoted ten days and it took 2-1/2 months, I understand the frustration. Involving the police in the instance that the shop owner did tells us nothing, as the police are only keeping things civil and enforcing the business owners right to kick anyone off his property, doesn't mean person being kicked off did anything wrong.

I I know as a business owner, if mike Tolbert were to make those accusations, and they were incorrect, you would dispute hem and prove they are wrong. Then people see exactly the person he is attempting to portray by the social media post, instead of telling them what to believe and getting involved in a he said she said argument.

Hmm NFL players and auto mechanics/repairmen. Probably not a case of who was right but more like who was the least wrong.
