Didn't watch the whole debate, may have missed something, but when I was watching I thought she at least was asking about issues important to the presidency. She didn't embarrass herself like the juvenile Lester Holt did when asking about birtherism and Trumped up left wing spin like the beauty queen (something totally set up by the Crooked campaign) and misrepresentation of Trump's position on the war.
Although when reading about her performance, many thought she too had different strike zones for the candidates and she certainly tried to prevent Pence from talking about Clinton's emails.
Did she ask about Clinton's emails? is that issue 0-2 thus far? Can you imagine if every moderator skirts that issue?
Now while she asked intelligent questions, that doesn't mean the candidates answered them. Kaine just wanted to talk about Trump's tax return and out of context statements (especially about Putin) no matter what the question was, and then tried repeatedly to drag Pence into his gutter which is where the democrats need to keep the discussion. Pence didn't bite.
Maybe Kaine's performance will be so maligned that Hillary will be forced to change tactics and discuss real issues in the remaining debates. I hope so, for two reasons.
1) the presidency should always be about issues
2) I'm not certain Trump will have the same discipline Pence did. He didn't in the first debate, but maybe he will next time.
