Tom Brady and Donald Trump have been friends long before Trump ran for president, and with the election less than a month away, Brady being asked about Trump was practically an inevitability. How could reporters pass an opportunity like that up?

The pair's public relationship started when, more than a year ago, Brady gave this response after a question about a prospective Trump presidency:

"I hope so. That would be great. There'd be a putting green on the White House lawn, I'm sure of that"

He was later spotted with a "Make America Great Again" Trump hat in his locker, though he subsequently walked back his support, saying that he never actually endorsed him.

And now onto Wednesday when, before Brady's second game of the season following a four game suspension, a reporter asked the New England Patriots quarterback:

"How would you respond if your kids heard Donald Trump's version of locker room talk?"

How did Brady respond? By smiling and politely excusing himself.

At least he didn't laugh in the reporter's face, smiling and walking away is how reasonable people deal with idiot trolls

Good move by Brady. Keep the focus on football and winning cheersgifno matter what answer he gave, it would result in it being a constant distraction.

What nobody mentions (shocker) is that was scheduled to be the last question of the presser. Everyone knew he had one question left, and he was done. He didn't just storm out in the middle of it.

Like I said, it was staged.
