Well intentioned lawmakers could never have foreseen the problematic cycle of big government and everyone having an equal vote. The growing hoards of voters who receive tax "refunds" which aren't derived from taxes paid are voting our country into an unsustainable welfare state.

Should one get to vote if they can't make sound enough decisions to sustain themselves? If only people with refunds from income taxes paid or 0 or greater taxes owed got to vote, Hillary would get 20-25% of the vote. Basically we have the kids telling the parents what to do, the nuts are running the asylum.

You're lucky they don't require IQ tests to vote
Oh good one. Did you win at kickball during recess today dipshit?

If there were an IQ requirement there wouldn't even be a Democratic party

Differences in partisan identification across educational categories have remained fairly stable in recent years, with one exception: Highly-educated people increasingly identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party.
About a third (34%) of those with a college degree or more education identify as Democrats, compared with 24% who identify as Republicans; 39% are independents. In 1992, Republicans held a seven-point lead among those with at least a college degree (34% to 27%), while 37% were independents.
Democrats now hold a 12-point lead (52% to 40%) in leaned party identification among those with at least a college degree, up from just a four-point difference as recently as 2010 (48% to 44%). There has been less change since 2010 in the partisan leanings of those with less education.
Currently, those who have attended college but have not received a degree lean Democratic 47% to 42%; Democrats hold a 10-point lead in leaned party identification among those with no more than a high school education (47% to 37%).
The Democrats’ wide lead in partisan identification among highly-educated adults is largely the result of a growing advantage among those with any post-graduate experience. A majority (56%) of those who have attended graduate school identify with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic, compared with 36% who align with or lean toward the GOP.
Among those who have received a college degree but have no post-graduate experience, 48% identify as Democrats or lean Democratic, while 43% affiliate with the GOP or lean Republican.

If this is true then you are an outlier.

Wasnt that hard to envision that many of these programs would turn disastrous once implemented. Even that socialist FDR made comments that SS shouldn't be permanent.

The only way to counteract govt spending would be less centralized govt and more state level responsibility but both parties like big government way too much at this point for that to happen. The voters just don't want it. Even the ones who say they do probably don't once it is spelled out for them what it truly means.

Student loan debt is nearly $1.3T....hmmm, might there be a correlation between the large number of "intellectuals" who have adpoted the dems and the growing student debt problem? Nothing smart about holding a masters in greek mythology funded by $60k in unforgivable debt. Highly educated doesnt always translate into highly compensated, hence highly taxed.

I've said it before, I'll say it again - people who don't have skin in the game shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Whether you're a single welfare mom, an academic or bureaucrat, if you're collecting a federal government check and voting, you're part of the problem, not the solution.

“When the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic.”

Each and every election cycle the Democrats have totally owned the low income demographic. They totally dominate the poorer inner cities. The poorer the people, the more they dominate, without exception. In 2012, Romney won each and every income demographic over 50k, yet still lost. That's not a very high threshold either.

Anyone who spins that in any other way is as uninformed as one can be. There can be no debate, to argue otherwise is almost akin to arguing African Americans vote Republican

So old white men collecting social security checks can't vote? That's not gonna help the outcome you want.

This is at least the 100th time you've posted this. What does it matter how much one makes or where they live? Why should your vote Count more?

you have no point. Kinda like when you said you didn't know anybody successful voting for Obama....then Obama won the 100k earners vote in your own state.

The greatest argument against a democratic form of government is a 10 minute conversation with your average voter. ----Winston Churchill

An educated electorate is the only cure, but our cancerous press works non-stop to keep the nation silly and stupid. I've been saying this for almost 40 years now, they just don't focus on substance, they don't tell the truth, they spin everything for the Democrats. Now we learn it's much worse, they collude with the Democrats

The one thing government can do is establish and enforce voting laws. Simple things like having an ID and being a (living) citizen is an absolute must.

When you rob from Peter and give it to Paul, you can always count on Paul's support

That's the modern day democratic playbook. Everything else is a smokescreen or a red herring or bullshit or all of the above. Your call, any choice would be correct.

Please give us a breakdown of what the "highly educated" degrees are in that side with the Dems. If its a bunch of liberal arts the degree is about worth the shit paper its written on.

Just one of the gems from Vitturd in this thread. This cuck summons his great villain the evil white man while the majority of blacks and hispanics are paying no taxes and collecting through programs funded by taxpayers. Of course social security was paid in to by these evil old white men, their employer paid the other half, and the gov. didn't do shit except keep it safe which every day is more dubious that will continue. Collecting Social security isn't a refund. It certainly isn't welfare and it's paid according to how much one paid in, which has nothing to do with people voting themselves money. Read the original post again, and again if need be. Vitturd again raising his arm in victory as he's getting choked out.

The press is just giving people what they want. Sensationalism is what sells, there is a reason that where Obama was born or what Trump did with his taxes in 1995 gets more play than substantive issues. People just don't care. Even the way debate is framed usually is to keep people uninformed and keep the dog and pony show going. Have 2 surrogates on and they talk for about literally nothing for 6 minutes, if they talked for 10 minutes then you couldn't do it the next week.

If a network tried to come with 2 think tank guys debating back and forth for 30 minutes about policy, they would go out of business in 2 months.

Social security and medicare are pretty clearly ponzi schemes that suck up huge amounts of the federal budget. Most people born pre-1970 get out far more than they put in. The response to this is usually some form of "Well, if they invested it they would have XYZ". But nobody wanted to do that back then since the stock market was relatively stagnant in the 60's and 70's and didn't take off until the early 80's and now the program is unsustainable.

The government should be guaranteeing a poverty line income in retirement, after that people have 40 years to save for it themselves. If you don't feel like saving then you can live in a 1BR apartment in Iowa.

Did you read Joe's post? If you did maybe you would understand the answer. I missed your response to guessers voter education link. Kinda blows up your entire theory. But having a thread blow up on you doesn't seem to stop you. See defying thread and Vitterd on a boat thread
