I see four lines that could/should move.

all lines are Westgate

Montreal -102

Canadians opened as a small dog offshore but quickly bet to pick ‘em. Even without Price I made this line as Montreal -120.

Winnipeg +132

I have Minnesota as a -125 favorite.

Calgary +120

I have Calgary as a solid -125 favorite. Chad Johnson, at this point of time, is a better goalie than 36 year old Ryan Miller. Team comparisons are polar opposite.

Leafs/Bruins Over 5.5 -115

I think this line is accurate but I can’t resist. Brad Marchand and Austin Mathews could reach this total all by themselves. ;)

Favs went 13-1 last night....only dog was Avs at home. 9 of 13 game were decided by one goal. Favs are now 26-5 through first four days. A correction is forthcoming

My problem with these favorite/dog stats is there is a razor thin line between who’s the favorite and who’s the dog. Yesterday for example nearly half of all the favorites were under -120. Can we really define a favorite as a team laying -115?

I took Carolina yesterday on the overnight at even, (dog), and today they are the favorite, (presently -126 at Pinny). The parity in this league is beyond anything I have ever seen before, in any sport. The vast majority of these games are coin flips. One puck hitting a post and going in or not decides a high percentage of games.

Considering the prevalence of games totaling 5 goals or less, when 25% of these games go into OT, and the amount of regulation one goal decisions are at historic levels I’m beginning to believe parlaying two dogs on the puck line might be a attractive option.

I’ve tried this in the past and crashed and burned. It might be something worthy of another try.
