Removed a tumor inside the bladder today and the doc said its cancer, they need to do a biopsy on it to determine the level of the cancer.

Anyone have any family or friends deal with bladder cancer that could shed any light on what he will have to go through or share any positive info, Im hurtin over here.

...I know every cancer is different in their own ways but... Fuck cancer man, straight up.

Bounceback, sorry to hear the news about your dad,my dad died from cancer 20 years ago and it was not an easy thing to go through. All i know is prayer helps as he was not supposed to last past 6 months when diagnosed with it and he lived almost 3 years. So when you get the lowdown from the doctor just be as positive as you can and try and spend as much time with him as you can also.......It don't get any easier either year by year as i miss him dearly and always will.....he was only 68 and its a shame he didn''t get to enjoy retirement the way he should have

god bless ya brother

Sorry to hear that BB, my Prayers go out to your Dad.

I only know one person, a Friends father that had it ( bladder cancer ) and was diagnosed about 6 years ago ( Yes, he's still alive )

I can't say how bad it is or what you and your dad will be looking at down the road. . I'm not a Doctor and unless you know what Stage the cancer is
I remember my friend telling me that depending on the Stage, you can kind of figure out what the %'s are.

and Yes, Cancer Sucks big time .... I lost my Mom to Colon cancer many years ago.

I hope everything works out

thoughts and prayers for your father and your family

my father had bladder cancer, had his bladder removed in the 1990's

he passed in 1995, but it was not from cancer

I think more people survive cancer or die with cancer than die from cancer nowadays. Stay strong for him, be there, things work out more often than not

All the best

He's going to be ok. As far as "level" is the key but just as long he's not extremely along he'll be fine and they'll nip it in the butt.

There needs to be a thread about how much advances that have been done on cancer in the past 15 years...it's absolutely amazing!

bb, Will say a prayer for you and your dad. My brother was diagnosed with stage 3 multiple myeloma about a year and a half ago. About three months ago he went through immuno therapy where they took out, cleaned, and retransfused his whole immune system. Last night he came over for dinner. He has still not fully recovered but the progress from when he was diagnosed has been tremendous. It hasn't been easy but he is recovering. We think. That's the thing with cancer, despite the best treatment the cancer can reoccur. I pray for him often and hope it helps.

Chin up, man. Get ready to fight with your dad. Like someone said earlier, the advances are happening at a rapid rate in this area of cancer fighting as I type. You guys can win the fight. Hope you do.

obviously the biopsy results will tell you how aggressive/benign this cancer is.

when the doc has the results, someone has to be there with your dad. This shit get it emotional. Gotta have someone there who can take in the information, ask questions. Doc will provide treatment options going forward. Process , ask more questions.... make a call. Dad's going to need positive people around him

focus on HIM, his needs, not your hurting................if that makes any sense ...........not easy to do, i get it

best wishes

Cancer Sucks...The most important thing will be the POSITIVE support you and your family can give him, day in and day out. There will be very good days and crappy days for him, but your upbeat outlook will give him a reason to fight thru it.

Sorry to hear your news. Hopefully the doc's can make a good plan for recovery and stop the spread. My dad passed from lung cancer when I was only 11 years old. Cancer sucks and it's a shame. Enjoy your time w/ him either way.
