[h=1]Cubs open as heavy favorites to beat Indians in World Series[/h]ESPN.com news services

10/23/16

LAS VEGAS -- The Chicago Cubs have opened as heavy favorites to beat theCleveland Indians in the World Series.
The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook set the line on Saturday night, after the Cubs beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the clinching Game 6 of the National League Championship Series.

A bettor would have to wager $175 on the Cubs to win $100. A $100 bet on the Indians would pay $155 if they win.
Game 1 is Tuesday night in Cleveland.
Chicago, with a healthier rotation than Cleveland, is trying to win its first crown since 1908. The Indians haven't won the title since 1948.

Red Sox were -180 over Indians in ALDS...then they were swept. Don't think Cubs are getting swept at all, but afraid people overlooking the Indians here. Should be a good series!

For sure man. I don't think Maddon will let them overlook the Indians. Too good of a manager to "overlook" someone. He knows what they have. He has coached in the AL. Big advantage in that sense too.

Indians starting pitching is in disarray... after Kluber, who goes? They do not know who will be healthy, and if they go will they be 100%.
That is the issue.
Cubs starting pitching is in good shape, Lester-Arrieta-Hendricks-Lackey.

not to mention it's in the order they want it to go w/ Lester taking Game 1. Indians had such a long break to reset rotation and it's still a ????

Really, how about Bauer, Tomlin and then Merritt. I don't see the issue here, I'd take the Indians bullpen over Chicago's any game of the Series. I'm not betting the series, just taking it one game at a time, but I would not count Cleveland out. GLTA

And why not??? Hell, he's too green to be worried so I say start him again, sure as hell worked out last time. I don't have a dog in this fight other than the fact I like to gamble, but counting the Tribe out would be a huge mistake. GL

I hope you're right T- Man but, I don't think Cleveland can sustain the way they have been winning.

OH, the Peckerwood decides to wake up and join the foray, LOL. I remember some day a few, well maybe more than a few, months ago and FearTheRaven posted the odds on the Cavs winning the series against GS, and I'm like, shit, I like those odds. And Cleveland goes down 3-1 and I'm thinking time to buy this bad boy out. NEGATIVE! I'm not a Drew fan, but CLEVELAND ROCKS! Get ya some and thank me in a week.

Bauer is possibly gonna try tomorrow night... that could be a disaster. Who knows? Maybe Tomlin or rookie Merritt, they say Salazar maybe the 4th game.
With those question marks, the Indians need to win tonight or they are in deep ca ca.

THAT, is the first comment I'd agree with. Tonight is "Must Win" night for the Tribe. I'm seeing that shit about Salazar all over ESPN today but I don't see it. Just let Merritt give it a go and see what the BP can finish up with. The Tribe WAXED two good teams to get to this spot, the Cubs had to fight tooth and nail to beat the Dodgers. I don't see the problem!?!?!
