At what point do they just do away with them? Don't need them. Home plate umpires vary their strike zone and they shouldn't! The strike zone is the strike zone! Technology already in place to be able to determine balls and strikes. As far as the base umpires, any close call is reviewed so why even have them out there?

I cannot believe how many times an ump calls a strike and the overhead camera shows 2-3" of dirt between the ball and home plate. Fastballs, not curves that move across the zone, though those should not be screwed up so often, either.
No, not the FoxTrac.
The actual overhead camera... how TF can an ump making all that money miss it from where he stands?
I can understand an issue with high pitches... very hard to call when close. And low pitches, some times.
But pitches on the paint, just outside, I honestly cannot understand how they are so incompetent.

Ya know what's crazy, and I watched the entire game.......a ball is 3-4" out on one side and it's a ball; it's 3-4" out on the other side and it's a strike. I've never seen anything like that. These homeplate umps need some special glasses, LOL.

Larry Vanover calls the SLOWEST strikes.......it's kinda hilarious. The hesitation actually helps him because he gets that time to think about whether he wants to call a ball or a strike, LOL!

YES!
And then the shill announcers say that "you cannot have both sides of the plate" blah blah to somehow justify it... what a bunch of BS!
