I just want to see what's it like to be an asshole forum contributor from the opposing side for a moment...

So I see Lebron up in the suites watching and being a cheerleader with his soundbytes, but does he really want to see this happen? He brought the city it's first championship in 50 years but Cleveland is always going to be a Browns/Indians town. The ratings in Cleveland for this World Series is dwarfing the NBA Finals ratings in Cleveland from last year. He's admitted to being a Yankees/Cowboys/Bulls fan growing up so he's was a bandwagoner anyways and has no real affection for the Indians from being a child of Ohio...even when the Indians were great mid-late 90's.

Does Lebron really want to see his glory of bringing a championship into town only last less than 365 days? Not a f'ing chance! It looks nice though, for his image, up there though supporting the city.

don't think he really cares either way...Indians winning takes nothing away from him or his glory.

Do the Cubs owners really want the Cubs to win? For what?

Team is finally good, why have a resolution and finale to a TV show in it's 2nd season?

I think this is a very fair question...but the answer, I believe, is yes. Previous ownership, not so much. But Ricketts like most any NBA owner not named Donald Sterling, has an ego that he wants to feed and I think he would rather be known as "the man" to bring a title to Wrigleyville and have a chance at a dynasty rather than sitting back and collecting revenue checks. Otherwise he would have never hired Theo Epstein.

Theo has the chance to accomplish what I consider to be the greatest accomplishment in the history of sports. And this is no exaggeration.

He can wear a Red Sox World Series ring on one hand and a Cubs World Series ring on the other.
If you think about that for one second I would like someone to tell me anything more impressive then that in the history of sports .

I think he loves Cleveland and he's rooting for the Indians

Unless he grew up a Cubs fan for some weird reason, but Cleveland was good during his influential years

@Choptalk

I know you are just giving hot takes but the Cubs and Red Sox are two teams that just hadn't and haven't won for awhile.

They have money, resources, scouting, etc....

It's a nice accomplishment but you are putting too much stock into the whole drought thing. This isn't the Browns and Pelicans.

That was the Bill Wirtz thinking with the Blackhawks for years. He wanted his teams good, but not good enough to win. He didn't want to pay the players if they won a title.
